  1. If you are looking for a cozy, yet still classy, place to throw an event (like a holiday party), this is a fantastic venue! I felt like I was in someone's trendy open kitchen studio.

As for the food, a good rule of thumb is to never say no to anything you are offered because everything is DELICIOUS. I tried the mini lobster roll, charred octopus, beet tartar with uni on bread, steak, gnocchi with fennel sauce, and an endless platter of cheeses and cured meats. Everything was served hor d'oeuvres style, so you can eat a lot without feeling bad!!

The only reason why I can't bring myself to give this a 5-star is because the place was a bit cramped (there were around 40-50 of us), so  when I stood on certain sides of the room, the waiters never came around to me with the food. Shucks, I was only able to get one lobster roll last night. Before I knew it, I was being offered chocolate cake, but I was definitely not ready for dessert yet.

  2. For my first trip to the Tasting Table Kitchen, my wife and I attended an event featuring Richard Blais and the release of his new cookbook.

I would agree with Joanne B's description of the venue: warm, inviting, like a "cozy downtown apartment".  It was like visiting one of my more well-heeled buddies for a dinner amongst friends.  There was a nice mix of standing tables, plush couches, and communal dining table space for diners to enjoy the food, and the layout was comfortable and easy to navigate.  What I also appreciated was how the event showed restraint in keeping the numbers to a comfortable size, so as to allow those who were there to be comfortable and never feel crowded.

And of course, the food was amazing, and the bartenders ever so personable and efficient.  The space was a pleasure and the execution of the event was excellent, I'd be excited to come back to the Tasting Table Kitchen for another event.

  3. Hot diggity. If you're lucky enough to score an invite to one of Tasting Table's amazing events here, DO NOT FLAKE OUT. Since this was a completely free event, I went in with no expectations and left with my mind blown.

The selection of plates was unique, creative, and most importantly, well executed! I sampled farro with grilled zucchini, salmon salad, and roasted beets with haricot verts, caramelized pecans, and ricotta – all of which were great summer dishes. In addition, the wait staff brought out a nice rotation of yummy little bites – my two favs were the crisp mini potato pancakes with creme fraiche and deviled quail egg! All of the food was replenished quickly and consistently and nobody was kept waiting, which I have never seen before at a free event.

The drinks were also delicious and inventive – there were specialty cocktails that definitely took some expertise from the bartender to make. I was surprised at how quickly she made them, all while keeping the quality high (read: strong and tasty) and patiently explaining what went into them.

As an added bonus, everyone was super friendly and the space was airy – Tasting Table did a great job organizing by ensuring it wasn't overcrowded and that there were enough standing tables for everyone to chow down at. I can't wait for the next one 🙂

  4. Came here recently with my best friend from HS for one of Tasting Table's super-exclusive tasting events and was pleasantly surprised! Their venue gives off an air of being very warm, cozy, welcoming and almost resembles a really beautiful NYC (LARGE) open apartment.

Let's just say that Tasting Table certainly knows how to put on a spread! For cocktails they served red wine, white wine and two delicious summery-inspired cocktail punches.

First off was a delicious fruity and rum-filled Planter's Punch that was the stronger one of the two but dangerously smooth (I mean this in a completely positive manner!) and the second was a vodka-infused lemon punch whose ingredients are unbeknownst to me. I kept going between the Planter's Punch and white wine throughout the night.

Their buffet spread included really AMAZING, tender miniature ribs where the meat literally fell off the bone and was seasoned just right and served with a delicious Greek-yogurt based sauce.

There was also a variety of soft and hard cheeses, my favorite among them being the soft and fantastically presented burrata (a fresh Italian cheese, made from mozzarella and cream. The outer shell is solid mozzarella while the inside contains both mozzarella and cream – if you've never had it then go find some because this stuff is sincerely life-changing!).

The wait staff also kept a really great rotation of amazing hors d'oeuvre coming out at almost lightning speeds but never sacrificing quality. Hors d'oeuvre included small toasts garnished with a savory combination of pulled pork and duck, lightly fried (or perhaps baked in breadcrumb) polenta balls (which I was absolutely ADDICTED to!), fried & battered southern sea bass served with a lime aioli (I was also addicted to this, so good!!) and some vegetarian offerings as well that I never really made much attention to with all the other delicious options on hand…

I was my best friend's plus one and super happy to be there as the folks who work and represent Tasting Table pretty much chatted with us all night and were super friendly and informative without being overbearing or sale-sy. I really had a fantastic time and hope I get to attend another one of their events soon!

  5. Went to a party here promoting Hangar 1 vodka and had a great time!

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a cocktail! There were also 2 open bars with delicious drinks. In the back, multiple chefs were preparing food for the event..I personally love watching chefs cook! There was a long table with a bread/cheese/fruit plate, lamb dish, quinoa dish, green beans and deviled eggs. Waiters floated around with more samples such as fluke, some shot with truffles and strawberry shortcake. The venue has brick walls and a great setup. The atmosphere was great and the crowd was good looking and friendly. We even got a goody bag with a handpainted vodka bottle and cookies!
