Teddy’s Place

“Gyro platter was good and plentiful, which I had to take half home for leftovers.”

“ok, so I love the Greek salad, chicken gyro (but I prefer with grilled chicken sliced not cubed, just find it easier to eat), their Greek fries are great and grape leaves too!”

“Curly fries was definitely a sinful treat!!!”

  1. This is a no frills med places.

Got the chicken gyro platter with salad and rice. The rice is toxic orange but tasted very bland. At least the lettuce didn't come from a can 😉

I forgot why I stumbled here. No idea why I was here. I'm not a guido.

  2. I like this spot so much that I was very disappointed that the last time I came home to visit, this place had went on fire and was closed. Boo. But, from what I've heard, they're back in business and once again delivering yummy Greek cuisine. If you're looking for five star dining, then this place is not for you. But, if you want quick and tasty Greek fast food, this is the spot to visit.  I enjoy their fries with malt vinegar, very European. Also, I don't even like Gyro's but I made an exception and had one here, and I actually liked it.  They deliver, and are moderately priced.  When I used to work out at the Forum, which is on the same block as Teddy''s, I used to come here afterwards for a pita with grilled chicken on a stick and a side of fruit salad. I never felt guilty about it. Especially, because there is a McDonald's right across the street that would have been way worse. Also, two thumbs up on the  tzatziki sauce is the best I've ever had.

  3. Great little take-out place in Bayonne. We stopped in the other day for gyros and fries. My daughter loves the grilled chicken gyro, while the husband and I opt for the lamb. Their Greek fries are really good, too. We each had a special request with our orders (no onions for me or the kid, fried onions for the husband) and everything was served perfectly.

We decided to stay rather than take out, and they do have a small number of tables. The staff brought everything to us and treated us very well.

If you have room for dessert, try the baklava.

Ignore the plethora of fast-food places right around Teddy's and go here instead. You won't be sorry.
