  1. This place always delivers quickly, with a great attitude and great customer service.  So Reliable and the quality of my orders is always dependable. Solid for delivery and take out, every time

  2. Guh. I don't know what ya'll be eating!

I came here for lunch with my family on a sunday and it was completely deserted. Talk about…eh.. We ordered various things – udon, rolls, sashimi, hand rolls & pasta. I would not recommend coming here for sushi or sashimi. It's tasteless, cold and looked unfresh/unapetizing. You can def get better quality fish elsewhere and for even a cheaper cost! (See chikurin on 86st) The udon was decent. My brother thought the soup was salty. But I thought it had a fair amount of food for udon. The pasta's looked awesome; they're a nice portion for one hungry person or two to share.

After our meal, my brother and I went down the street for bubble tea to comfort our unhappy bellies.

  3. They have $1 sushi and $2 hand rolls everyday all day ! Need I say more ?
Hubby and I shared some dollar rolls and the spicy tuna hand roll and salmon avocado hand roll which were all fresh . The valentine special roll was tasty and so was the tuna and avocado roll. The tuna was especially good because it didn't leave that fishy taste in your mouth .
We also had the spicy pork belly ramen soup which was  spicy but a good spicy . It had bok Choy in it which was weird but a delightful addition to traditional ramen
Overall great sushi and ramen when you are craving it and great for the price.

  4. For the only Japanese restaurant around here, I would come back more often, mostly for their soup noodles. This place has been here a while and I was always tempted to come, but never did with all the different mixed reviews. Finally decided on the place and came this past Friday for a birthday dinner.

It was around 8 o'clock and only 2 other groups were seated. Oh well, less hassle of waiting, especially with the 2 monsters that tend to run around, ugh. A friendly tip for parents, if your little one is as small as mine, 17 months old, the highchairs aren't tall enough for their tables. Karen had to eat while pushing herself up, her chin would touch the table when actually sitting. The people that helped us that night were all very patient, both with the kids, and the troubled bro-in-law that always asks for something every 2 minutes. Even I get annoyed every time we dine with him. Wish he would ask the poor guy all at once instead of making him going back and forth so often.

Food, unexpectedly pretty good! The green tea soba actually caught me by surprised, since I have never seen it before. Very mild green tea flavor, and the color of it made the dish pop. I had the Braised Pork Tonkatsu, came with the braised pork, half an egg, bean sprouts, and all the usual toppings that comes with ramen. The noodles sits in a big bowl in a rich pork flavored broth. Where should I start with the braised pork? Fatty, melted in my mouth, juicy goodness. It's a big bowl guys, so hold off on the starters. OH wait! Have you ever seen a sesame grinder? Not me. Gosh, I went crazy on that fresh cracked sesame on my noodles.

We had other dishes, too, like the xo fried rice, some hand rolls, a baked pasta dish, 2 appetizers, and a sizzling chicken plate with black bean sauce. All looked tasty, sadly I did not have a chance to taste other than a California roll. Had to feed the kids before feeding my own self, and by the time I'm ready to chow, all the food is basically gone, BOO! Only moms would know.

Besides leaving stuffed, also left with a happy wallet. All the food we ordered, we did not expect to pay only a little over a 100 bucks, place has a reasonably priced menu. Definitely coming back with a even bigger appetite to try everything else.

  5. This restaurant is the only one that I know of that serves such affordable and filling ramen!

The soup broth for my spicy pork belly ramen was on point and only $6.50! It comes with a perfectly half-cooked egg, as well as noodles, and a sesame seed grinder. In Manhattan, ramen can go up to $15 a bowl, and I know that Ippudo likes to charge an extra 2 dollars for an egg = $17!! WHAT?

As for the sushi, I only tried the spicy salmon hand roll and it was delicious as the seaweed was nice and crunchy.

Looking at the other reviews, I think that if you order the right things, you can definitely make your wallet happy and your belly happy! My lunch only came out to be 11 bucks with tip and tax and I was STUFFED. (:

  6. I had the spicy pork tonkatsu ramen and it is one of the best I've ever had and at a great price! You won't find this at Momofuku or Ippudo!

  7. not a truly authentic japanese restaurant (as evidenced by items that are typically found in chinese restaurants) , but it's good. It's hard to find a good japanese restaurant in bensonhurst/gravesend, especially one that serves ramen. Specifically, I came here for the ramen, and it's pretty good. The tonkotsu ramen has decent noodles that are al dente. However, it's a little weird because it comes with corn and bok choy. Good lunch specials. The restaurant has a nice set up with booths and tables. I would come back to this place.

  8. Over the years I have seen this restaurant transform from one sushi shop to another. However until one of my friends told me about their new food, little would I have given Tengu another chance.

It may be one of the best ramen places for its price point in all of NYC. Where else can you get a flavorful broth with lots of ingredients in it for around $6-7? I would say nowhere. I have tried other ramen joints such as Minca and Toto Ramen and none of them can really compare to what I have tried here. The broth is a nice pig bone broth for the spicy pork ramen with not too much oil but also a tasty favor. I would love to come to this place for lunch everyday if I could.

The sushi here is okay. Nothing extra special.

THE RAMEN IS GREAT ESP DURING LUNCH SPECIAL TIME!
