“Went here yesterday for a date during Happy Hour and I was not only in good company but the food was excellent as well.”
“There are some nice details, like a waterfall on one wall, that added to the "zen-like" feel.”
“And my favorite plate was the one with Toro (fatty tuna), uni, shrimp head, shrimp, king shell crab sushi…”

I keep ordering the sushi here because they deliver quickly. This is only a delivery review. Even when its super cold the delivery man comes. They package the sushi nice and tight in little boxes. I haven't had a bad roll yet. I'd say the salmon is good. The crunch is kind of blegh so I would go for straight salmon or tuna. The salmon avocado is good. The yellowtail jalapeno is also good. They also have my favorite egg casserole sashimi (tamago).
I originally ordered this place for the Indian pancake. Its a fried flat pancake that is greasy, flaky, and pretty good with a side of curry to dip it in. Its not the best in terms of this appetizer that I've had but solidly ok enough to order on a repeat basis.
If you're looking for amazing sushi, this is not it. This is staple, everyday sushi.
Came here for a dinner date with a friend. I was disappointed they did not have a dinner bento box on the menu. We got vegetable gyoza which was ok, nothing spectacular. Also, I had the chicken teriyaki dinner which came with miso soup and rice. I asked for brown rice yet got white instead. The meat was dry and tasted like it was day or two old reheated meat. The sauce was okay. All in all I was disappointed by the food although the servers were friendly.
I have ordered delivery from Tenzan a couple times now. The food is here FAST. and it's great. The sushi is big and tasty and the salad is a real salad – not just some iceberg lettuce.
My favorite is the lunch combo – two rolls and a salad. It's the perfect lunch. try their cali roll and peanut/avo roll. Yum.
Good sushi experience at this midtown spot. All of the basic rolls are executed well here. But the key to success here, is that there's lots of great flavor combinations on their specialty roll list.
A great place on the UWS of NYC! Lots of space for NY and elegant decor with solid service and a nice range of sushi with high quality. The only rubs were the single darned unisex bathroom and the $6.50 smallish draft beer. We enjoyed our nigiri and rolls and the prices were NY good and a short walk to Levain Bakery!
Great spot that I stop by for lunch frequently. Generous filling in their rolls with minimal rice. Fish is always super fresh and their portions are great. They run the typical lunch specials but I am always left very full. Whenever I work in the area I make it a point to stop here for lunch. Great find!
One of my top lunch spots in the area. Always a pleasure when I dine in or order out (which is at least once a week). Nice staff and the sushi/food are always well made. Rolls are pretty big, even the veggie rolls.
I also just discovered that they carry Lady M's Green – Tea Mille Crepes !!! My fav!!! I LOVE all things Lady M's!!
I ordered from this place tonight and boy do I have a lot of things to say about it.
The one redeeming quality is that the order was supposed to arrive at 9PM and it actually showed up around 8:30.
I ordered a piece of yellowtail, an avocado roll, a tuna hand roll, and an avocado salad. I also ordered an extra side of ginger dressing.
First thing I noticed is that the avocado rolls were basically falling apart. None of them were tightly wrapped at all. It's pretty hard to mess up a vegetable roll for which you already have reasonably low expectations, so that was strike one.
Next I noticed that the avocado on my salad was overripe. It was mushy in some spots and hard in others. It wasn't horrible but the seemingly not fresh bed of lettuce it was on only served to augment that fact. Strike two.
The tuna hand roll was just ok, but the yellowtail piece made me legitimately nervous. It had a weird look to it up close and smelled a little off. Needless to say, I ended up throwing it out.
Bonus: normally, I could essentially bathe in ginger dressing. I could hardly stomach any of this one (to add insult to injury, I had ordered extra, which they upcharge at this place). It was very thin and weirdly tangy. No thanks.
HERES THE KICKER. As I was throwing out the bag, I noticed they had OVERCHARGED me. My Seamless order was exactly $27 (a rip off for the above, as it was) and it ended up being $27.75. I'm not going to call and complain about 75 cents but seriously? Enough.
I definitely won't be ordering from this place again any time soon.
