Food is mediocre, a 3 star at most, but they serve BUBBLE TEA! That bumps Teri Teri to a 4 star – my bubble tea-to-go place in West New York.
My Order: Green Tea Bubble Tea
Yaki Soba
I was really looking forward to this place. Here's a quick review:
Food = Alright, nothing fantastic
Service = On your own, don't expect too many smiles
Cleanliness = Well, the bathroom access via kitchen and prep makes you wonder
Price = Pricey, considering
So I tried the chicken yokisoba and spicy tuna roll. The chicken in the yokisoba was plentiful but the yokisboba itself was absurdly dry. I added some soy sauce and hot sauce too.
The spicy tuna roll was not that great. Too much rice and the tuna was meh.
I love that this place is thriving located in a hostile environment of Colombian and Cuban restaurants!
I've been here twice and both times the place has been packed. Although it is built like a tiny hoboken bar, the food really is worth the wait. I've had the chicken teryaki sandwich (I figured you can't ruin that) when I came here the first time and it was by far some of the best chicken teryaki I've ever had. Yes, ever better than the free kind at Newport mall food court.
Second time I came I had the Yakisoba to be adventurous. It wasn't that crazy, more like chicken teryaki stir fry with a ton of cabbage, but really good pieces of chicken. It was enough for two small meals and it didn't take long at all. My friend had a bowl, which comes with 2 pieces of california rolls, salad and chicken teryaki – very fresh and delciious. My other friend had the chicken plate, which was just a larger chicken teryaki portion with rice and salad.
Plates are all under $10, the people there try to make it a real restaurant experience, bring you your food to your table and everything. They are very friendly. There's also plenty of random condiments around, like extra thick teryaki sauce, soy sauce and some sweet white sauce which I think is ranch. Anyway, definitely a place where I would return, the flavor is great and price is right!
Parking of course sucks – it IS Bergenline.
