Terrace Bagels

“The Sun Dried Tomato is really INTENSELY rich so keep that in mind when you are choosing your cream cheese.”

“Although there's sometimes a wait for the seating area in the cafe it's really worth it.”

  1. Terrace Bagels' s recent renovation was very well done. What was once dumpy and dingy is now swank, with a bold color scheme, new gourmet appetizing offerings, and a spacious, well-appointed cafe area. The employees are just as welcoming and efficient, and the whole wheat everything bagel remains crispy, crunchy, cushy, and loaded. Don't miss half price bagel happy hour.

  2. Best bagels in the hood, coming from a true connoisseur/snob/fatty like me. My go-to is a whole wheat everything with lox spread and tomatoes (not toasted) and they get it right every time. The bagel is so crunchy and chewy and just perfect.

My other favorite is the everything flagels, but they run out fast!

Sandwiches are good here, too. I got an Italian combo once… It was basically half a loaf of bread with tons of meats and good stuff on it and cost around $8? Lasted a whole 2 meals.

  3. The service here is very nice, but I was unimpressed with their bagels. I picked up a dozen freshly baked bagels (and they tossed in two free bagels) of assorted variety. All of the bagels tasted exactly the same – bland and not flavorful. The texture was okay.

The bagels are not terrible, but I expected more and better being that 1) this is New York and 2) they have awesome ratings from Yelp.

  4. The good : the bagels were pretty tasty and everything was very moderately priced. Also, while the coffee was mediocre, I liked that there was a good selection of milk to add in. The less good : the egg and cheese bagel had a weird taste to me, and I found the music pretty annoying , although I see how it could be pleasantly upbeat if you were just passing through as opposed to sitting down!

  5. Pretty solid bagels and breakfast sandwiches from this large sized shop. Service is about what you'd expect at a no frills bagel shop, so as far as warmth goes, you're in Brooklyn so forgeddaboutit. There is a nice big seating area past the deli counters, but on a nice day, you are far better off taking your spoils to the nearby Prospect Park for a picnic now that it isn't so stabby. The bagels were goo, but to me, not up to the "10 best in the city" bar. The sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel was good, but about on par with what I can get in suburban NJ. The bagel dough was chewy as it should be, but lacking the punch to make it extraordinary.

  6. This is a bagel store/deli/diner combo!

There is a good variety of bagels BUT In my opinion, the bagels are just average.

I have ordered a dozen bagels (which comes with a few free), fresh mozerella and tomato salad (YUM!) and antipasto salad (eh…I will pass next time).

The menu is vast and includes items such as french toast (and other breakfast items)!
I believe they are open till 10 pm most nights (double check that).

I look forward to visiting again to sample the other fare.

  7. I think these might be a strong contender for best bagels of Brooklyn!  I am not obsessed with their cream cheese but that actual fluffy gluten mounds are real tasty.  The line can be long on weekends!

  8. Simply amazingly fresh bagels.  The lox bagel is probably one of the best I've had in Park Slope.  They have supposedly expanded their store from before, and so they now have a decent seating area and serve you fast.  I would like to try the breakfast sandwiches one time as well and snag a discounted bagel during happy hour.  If only it wasn't so far up the slope (I'm pathetic I know), I would probably go here more often.
