A pretty boring place. food isn't bad although I don't come here for that I come because my fries likes this place.
Shots of congac to extensive. And cheap garbage martell.
They make a darn good cappuccino. Nice respite on Ave Z.
If you have to use the rest room….be sure to ask for the key, because they didn't mention I needed one, when they saw me fumbling with the locked door, thinking it was occupied. Boom there it was with a wooden block sitting right there on the counter.
this place Is usually a hit or miss, but so far for me specifically its been a hit
the place has good solid hookah, a decent amount of flavors, usually prepared well, cleaned well too. the only issue is that they didn't change the coal unless I asked them to, if they serve hookah they should have specific staff checking on their customers from time to time to refill coal.
the food there is really good, the green tea crepes are delicious, any of their crepes period are delicious! I also love their chicken ceaser salad, very good generous portions.
The teas are very cute, its a French press brew ,so you can get a solid two cups of tea with whatever fruity or plain flavor your order.
their mojitos are really good, never too bitter or too sweet, but they felt a little weak .
the service overall is better on weeknights then crazy weekends, and they have two floors which is a plus.
If you're looking for good service, look elsewhere. The hookah is ok and the desert is good. The tea is not bad either but that's it.
Two separate reviews, here's one of the upstairs : There's really truly nothing impressive about this place. Well, that's not true. The hilarious lack of service is pretty impressive. That, however, is standard for many of the neighborhood " trendy hot spots" (barf). The food is mediocre, bland and the best compliment I can give it, is that it does exist and can, in some circles on this planet, be considered food. My wife had an experience here where she sat down with a friend and wasn't approached for 20 minutes despite the restaurant (if they insist on calling it a restaurant, I'll play along) being empty; they then left. My feeling was that this experience could have been much worse; they could have been served food. They offer hookah and the menu is promoting this "POPULAR NEW DRINK ABSINTHE", therefore if you thought that 2004 was a particularly outstanding year in history, you might like it here, as time has absolutely stood still since then.
For the downstairs : it's a small , unassuming coffee shop. The coffee and lattes are pretty good, and the pastries and breakfast sandwiches are actually more than decent, as well. With glass walls to the street and electric outlets, it's a decent place to read or study up, if you can handle some commotion. While it's nothing too special, I like this part of the establishment a whole lot more and it bumps up my rating to 2.
Really hard to enjoy this place when the service is nonexistent. I find myself here occasionally because the location is convenient and their hookah is okay. However, be ready to wait a long time to get seated or served.
I honestly expected ALOT more from this place in terms of service and quality of food, especially for the location that it's in. Let's start with the service. The servers here are rude and ignore the patrons. I don't know if it's a lack of management/staff training, or the servers just hate their jobs, don't care about anyone dining, but the service here is lacking BIG time. I do not appreciate a server giving us attitude after ignoring us for the first 20 minutes. The food is mediocre. We ordered numerous items off the menu, including the sliders, which were a huge disappointment. The desserts are pretty good. The upstairs decor is somewhat modern, but the round sofas are nothing more than pretty cool, comfort wise, I would stay away and go for the chairs, not that I plan to be back here. The coffee served is "illy" brand and the caps and lattes are pretty good. Two stars for the first floor. The ladies do a good job. A restaurant thrives on repeat business, I would certainly make some improvements in the customer service department and upgrade the furniture (this will only expand the space for more seating) because this place has huge potential to be a hot spot considering the high foot traffic here. I would love to see this place blossom.
