  1. I'd say a step below Boston Market. Still very delicious, similar side dishes/entrees, but not quite as good. The food comes out fast, so it's a great place to grab a quick lunch.

  2. I stopped in lured by the promise of lunch special. For 8.95 you get a burger / wrap / burrito / sampling of baby back ribs and a side, plus drink. Not too shabby.

I got the "Veggie Burger Burrito", and while it was sufficiently tasty, it lacked any certain "oomf". This place is basically a McDonalds of BBQ, which I was unaware of at first. They serve you a number and a tray complete with prewrapped fork/knife, a few napkins and a straw. You shuffle to the cheesy tables for two with your plastic tray and await your meal.

While it was "okay", I certainly will not be revisiting this establishment. In a pinch it may serve if you are in a hurry and happen to be right on their doorstep.

  3. This BBQ fast food joint is not bad if you stick to the basics chicken and/ or ribs. My love for seafood had me order a combo of breaded non-seafood mess while my grandfather enjoyed his rice & ribs. The sides need work; the whipped sweet potato was not sweet or tasty and, the broccoli was bland no seasoning at all. I switched my order for something different (lunch ribs) but, if you don't ask for your change first you may get duped… The manager "exchanged" my meal for something closer to the price of my original meal I ordered. I was pissed off about my $10. I doubt I'll be frequenting this restaurant, even if I go "cheap" it'll be a traditional restaurant.

  4. FUCK. YES.

a little piece of texas was located right across the street from our hotel. okay that's a lie because i don't really know what texas bbq is supposed to taste like, but i can only hope it was as awesome as this place.

walk in, take a look at the vast menu they have and order at the counter. if you're eating there, your food will be delivered to your table. i went for the bbq pulled pork hero, with a side of mac and cheese. the bread was toasted but still ridiculously soft, and the pork.. my godddddddddd. they did not skimp out on the meat, and the pork was full of barbeque flavor. so much in fact, i barely used any hot sauce on my sandwich.. and i'm the kind of person that puts hot sauce on each bite of my sandwich. the mac and cheese was done well, i forget what it reminded me of but it was just straight comfort food.

this place left me full for pretty much the entire day at about $9.00. i mean seriously, i ran around manhattan the whole day and didn't get hungry until like 8.

i'll come back for you one day, i promise.

  5. I love this decently priced rotisserie chicken and the little boy I come here with loves the chicken fingers.  We both love the spiced fries.  I'm sure they come out of a frozen bag, but they're good none the less.

Everyone behind the counter is really nice and that counts for a lot.

They have plenty of platter meals that come with a meat and two sides for under $10.

  6. I am trying to add a few new eateries to the mix for my busy season catering AKA dining series and have asked some of my favorite people at the office to give me some suggestions.  As such, I ordered from Texas Rotisserie last week.  I was thrilled that they were on Seamless  Catering, and had a feeling the grilled chicken, barbecued beef, cornbread, and a manifold of sides that I ordered would be a hit.

I received nothing but rave reviews especially about the succulent meats, cornbread, Caesar salad, creamed spinach, and green beans from everyone from the low-carb dieters to the gourmandes.  Why am I not giving Texas Rotisserie a five star review?  The food came a bit late.  Regardless, I will order from them again soon!

  7. Texas Rotisserie has a good location right off the red line.  The ambiance doesn't do much, but it's kept clean.  I mainly have gotten delivery from here while at work, but their delivery range is quite wide.

The BBQ is decent and the sides are OK.  Nothing here has actually wow'd me or made me crave their food, however, there are only two BBQ places that deliver to my work so when BBQ is what we're ordering, and one of the two locations is closed, then the other one automatically gets our business by default.

If you just are craving some decent ribs and mac and cheese, then Texas will fulfill that craving — no fuss.

  8. Fried Chicken that settles the appetite!

I've walked past here a few times and always saw people inside and figured I have to check it out. So I finally walk in and ask the person at the counter what the most popular orders are and she named a few like the fried chicken which is what I got. A 2 piece fried chicken with 2 sides and cornbread for $10 sounds pretty good to me. For an extra $2 you can get a 3rd piece of chicken.

They give you a number on a stand when you sit down so they know where to give you the food and when we got it we were surprised with the large amount of food that we were given. All of the food was good and tasty but not amazing. This is more of a quantity meal than quality. I would come here again because it was super quick and good but you can find better chicken in the city.

    In short:
    – Fast casual chicken/BBQ joint
    – friendly staff
    – large quantity of food
    – cheap
