Stopped in after shopping at the NBA Store. Had the traditional cheese burger and my nephew had a chicken sandwich from the kid's menu. The bun was crumbling so that tells me it was stale. That in turn tells me the management does not care. Tasty fries though. And free refills are still offered. Lots of seating so the wait was short.
Stopped here to eat after visiting rockerfella center during Christmas.
2 floors, waited about 5 minutes for a table for 2.
Waitress was nice, very friendly. It was very warm, and kind of loud. Drinks were good. Food was very bland and basic, I guess your typical Fridays food…im not really a fan of the Fridays chain. Kitchen got my honeys order wrong, waitress offered to replace it, but we just wanted to get out of there, so we got over it. Waitress seemed to be really good at the disappearing act and looked REALLY nervous when she saw my honeys food was wrong….maybe this happens a lot with the kitchen? not sure, but it was weird….thinking maybe these mistakes affect her tip, not with us….she handled the situation very professionally, we know some things are out of servers hands and she asked my honey a few times if he wanted to order something else…..very nice chic!
This location is waaaay overpriced! I understand its in a very touristy area…but then make the food better….or give better choices? Not feeling the same crappy freezer food at inflated prices….AND they dont even take your Fridays club card here, so dont expect to get points after spending it up!
Really, what's the point of writing a review of a Friday's? In this case, I just kind of hope somebody there will read my post, and what looks to be many similarly bad experiences chronicled here on Yelp. In my case, I friend and I had an hour to kill before he had to be back at a meeting in 30 Rock, so we were happy enough to find this Friday's on the corner. Our waiter was friendly enough, but the execution of almost everything else was dismal. My friend ordered an iced tea that arrived oddly fizzy. A second try fared no better, so he made do with water. He also desperately needed to use the restroom, but he returned to the table to report that it was in a dire state, and that he'd have to hold it. I had a couple draft beers that were fine, but then, that's a low hurdle to clear.
We don't have a TFI Fridays in Seattle, so we came to eat here on our first day in NYC. I was a bit disappointed. We ordered 2 appetizers, 4 drinks and 2 burgers. My avocado burger was alright, but the avocado was old and obviously losing it's color, didn't really notice until my last bit because i opened the bun and was kinda disturbed by it. The buffalo wings i'd say is the best thing i ate there. Our total came to about.. 100 something which i say is totally NOT worth it.
Went here on a friday after some shopping. Was excited to finally eat some lunch and decided to come to this location since it was next to topshop. Upon arriving, there was no one to greet customers. There was a sign on the door that said to wait to be seated. Waited about 10 minutes and no one came, the bar staff clearly saw us, but did nothing. We ultimately went upstairs to see if a worker would seat us.
Upon arriving there was a moderate amount of people seated and eating. It took an additional few minutes to get the server's attention. Immediately, our server (Lewis) told us they were short staffed and only 2 servers worked on that floor. It took a while to order our food because other confused customers came, also our server was conversing with a party that was leaving while at the same time promoting his youtube channel.
Decided to check out this location on yelp and saw the ratings and I felt like I've made the hugest mistake of my life. I drank my water with much regret and feared for the worst. Usually my experience at tgi fridays is good but this location definitely was not a good experience.
Unlike other reviewers my food came pretty quick about 15 minutes after ordering, ordered the lunch special, and Lewis was quick to take our orders so we would be able to get the lunch special at about $11. Had the triple stacked reuben and a jack daniels chicken sandwich. Waiter delivered our drinks and another random guy (janitor/kitchen staff) delivered our food. What irked me was that the man that served me my food was hauling a huge garbage bag across the room with his bare hands. I'm just hoping he washed them before handling food…most likely not. The food was okay, or maybe it was because I was starving.
Asked the waiter for napkins a few times, he always said okay and we never got them. So when asking for the check we asked for napkins again, and he returns with only the bill while reminding us to pay tips (there's a lot of foreigners at this location, and a lot of countries tipping is not necessary). After paying the bill he gave us napkins…so it felt like he was keeping napkins for tip ransom or something. Upon leaving there were 2 women staff saying bye…and I'm just wondering "where were you when we needed to be seated…"
Overall, not really the good experience I get at other tgi fridays. Management needs to get more staff on the floor and put someone at the front to guide customers. It's also disturbing having cleaning staff handling garbage out in the open in front of customers and designating them to handle food. In a location that receives a lot of foreign customers, this store isn't making a good impression.
It was a lovely experience actually!
You have to know what TGIF is.. i.e. an americain chain fast food like, but better quality.
We watched a rugby game there ( which they put on for us). It is small but nice ( they have a floor upstairs i believe ). Good food. Good choice of drinks with or without alcool… nice service.
Craptastic food, disinterested servers, tip included on the bill for a table of three. Stay away from this location!
3 stars only because I had been wandering around by myself, it was hot, and I was getting a little light headed and wanted to eat someplace right then! It's NYC, it's on 5th Ave, it's NYC…that should explain it all to you.
Not the friendliest bunch in the place. This jerkette next to me at the bar (I wanted to sit at the bar to just get in and right out) kept bumping my chair; I wanted to bump her upside the head. This other animated person at the other end of the bar was using the F word as a noun, verb, adjective, pronoun etc. loudly. And the bartender was more interested in the baseball game than serving.
WTH! I got my salad and club soda, ate it, paid and got the hell on up out of there. The price wasn't too terribly high (I've eaten at Friday's in airports- now thats high!) and it did what I wanted it to do. Feed me and rehydrate me and get me on my way.
