The 3 Luigis

“A super-solid lunch spot that I frequent just as much for their meals and garlic knots as their cheese slices and buffalo chicken slices.”

“They have some really good specialty pizzas like the bacon and ranch, the bbq chicken and buffalo chicken slice I really like the pesto with ricotta slice.”

  1. This looking for a quick bite while doing laundry or on the way out to the bar? Then the Luigi's is your place. The grandma slice is amazing. Thick crust, great sauce. Plain slices are always a great staple too. Add a bunch of cheese, red pepper flakes, oregano and you are set.

  2. Surprisingly great for a hole in the wall-esque little joint. I've had their BBQ chicken pizza and one of their vodka sauce pastas (was it linguini? I don't remember), which had bits of bacon and mushroom in it. Didn't expect their pasta to be that good – the actual noodles themselves. It also came with garlic knots, which were a great addition. Pizza bread/crust was also great – it my favorite part, which is saying something, because usually I'm in it for the cheese. I've also had their grandma style? (sicilian) pizza for takeout/delivery which was almost like tomato pie. 4 stars for being great for what it is – a casual, not the cleanest, pizza joint.

  3. This little "hole in the wall" pizza spot is worth trying. They have random flavors along with the classics. It looks more like a grab and go spot but they do have limited seating. It's not one of those places where they have a host and they sit you. It's first come first serve and fight to death for a seat unless your going to get it and leave. Pizza comes out quick and if you sit down they bring the pizza to you! Great service and pizza is really delicious.

I ordered the Bacon BBQ Chicken Ranch Pizza split between 5 of my cousins and one pie made us full. It's also BYOB if your in the mood to drink while eating inside.

Beware though if your sitting in the back tables they only have one restroom where you might meet new friends who's waiting to use it.

  4. Great pizza! I literally have been trying to make my way over to The 3 Luigis for quite a while and I'm glad I finally made it over. There weren't that many seats but it was packed mid-day. I'll be back to try the veggie slice for sure.

  5. Small, cheap place with a good selection for sit-down dinner or pizza-to-go.

I got oil and garlic pasta on fettuccine. First, the pasta was extremely dry and rather undercooked. It tasted rubbery. Nor did I taste much  garlic in the sauce — just a few cloves plopped in there. It was very, very bland.

You can customize your pasta with any type of noodle, not something you find many places.

They only take debit and credit so I had to run back to my place. Not a big deal.

The guy who serviced me (see what I did there) was nice, none of the jerkiness I encounter at chain stores here.

I generally prefer these low-key, no-frills, no attitude place to the bougey ones sprouting all around it. This dish was lazy.

  6. Decent slice for an average price. I was hungry and even though I went for 2 classic slices they had a wide variety available. I'm around here pretty often and I plan on coming back.

  7. This is my go-to pizza place in my neighborhood. The ingredients are fresh and good quality, and they are made pretty quickly. My only complaint is that they don't deliver! What kind of hole-in-the-wall pizza joint doesn't deliver? Since its the best around, though, I often pick it up anyway. Get a delivery man, three luigis! I'd give you more of my money!

  8. Not the best… by any means. But good, tasty, satisfying pizza for a slice before you head to Manhattan for the night.

I have eaten here several times, when I lived around the corner. It's in a very convenient location and let's be honest… If we did not live in NYC and happened to live somewhere in Oklahoma or something, this pizza would be bomb.

BUT, we DO live in NYC… so 4/5 star ratings are reserved for the likes of DiFara, Spumoni Gardens, etc…
