  1. A really nice and cosy resting place after 22miles bike ride from New York City. My friend highly recommended the food upon hearing my cycling plan. Yet the place offered so much more than I expected. Food is great. I got two fried eggs sandwich with ham and tomato, plus a grape fruit juice. Everything is delicious! The bread has a crunchy crust and chewy doughy inside. There are plenty of space in door and outdoor, all clean and comfy. The staff is super friendly and enthusiastic.

Really love this place. Not sure what else could I ask for after the 22 miles!

  2. I am an aspiring cyclist and on some days I stop here for a break and a small bite to eat.  At almost exactly 20 miles from Midtown Manhattan, I am not the only one with this idea.  On Saturdays and Sundays in the warmer months, this place is mobbed by cyclists – so much so that they put a big bike rack out front.  Yes, it is conveniently located on 9W, but the food and service is great as well – that is why so many people pop in here for their breaks.

They have a variety of tasty baked goods and coffee, etc., if you want to pop in there in the morning and read the paper.  They also have a pretty deep selection of prepared foods, like sandwiches, pizzas and entrees as well.  This is great, because when you are riding, you may be hungry enough to eat your fingers, but it is nice to be able to make some sensible food choices.  I opted for a side portion of whole wheat pasta in a tomato and basil sauce with small mozzarella balls.  The food was very good.  I also had a mini devils food cupcake with a butter cream frosting.  Also very good.

  3. Nicely located on the border of NY and NJ, this deli is a familiar place to cyclists, not just for its utility as a rest stop. but for what has to offers – an extremely friendly staff, outdoor space and plenty of interior, and a quality breakfast menu. What more can you ask for after a long ride from GW. Whether you are here for only a quick refill or sitting down for a longer brunch, this place will have you covered. I love it!

  4. A cool place to chill out after a lengthy biking tour. Lots of breakfast items to choose from and I followed my elite friend Jia's suggestion to get the organic egg sandwich, delicious! Grape fruit juice was also refreshing. Love it!

Hope to come back next time biking!

  5. This is a great, healthy lunch spot if you're taking a scenic ride or travelling along 9W for any reason.  And if you don't mind spending a lot on lunch.

Everything is fresh.  They have all sorts of homemade salads, meats, and side dishes to choose from.  Plus some cookies, pastries, and pies for dessert!

There is outdoor seating, as well as some indoor tables.  The staff are very friendly and willing to make suggestions on what to order.

The parking lot fills fast, as it's shared with the Filling Station. I assume they are owned by the same people.

They also have some energy bars for the passing cyclists, as this is a popular bike route.

It IS rather on the expensive side for lunch.  My smoked salmon with arugula, and pasta salad sides with a seltzer came to something like $18.  This is really not affordable for average people, but since they are located in an affluent area, they can afford to be pricey.

  6. Palisades Market seems to be in the middle of no where, but it's really not.  I would consider it the most southern of the Hudson River Valley eateries.  It is so charming and has everything you would want: fresh food, wine, outdoor seating, espresso, sweets, sodas, etc.  As a cyclist, I was happy to be accommodated.  As a real person (read: not a cyclist), I was happy to grab a quick bite to eat on my way out of town.

It's such a cute little place!

  7. Think of a cafe in Napa that serves high quality food for reasonable prices.   The people there told me that the owners have a restaurant in the city but the wife wanted something more "her style".   I thought the place was charming and cozy.    I loved that the food was freshly made each day and that they served quality (I noticed they had my favorite cheese in stock…..  Saint Andre).    I had the spinach pie, daily salad, and a coconut/pecan cookie (which I thought I would hate.. but found out it was quite tasty).    Loved the food, service and the conversation with the staff.   It's a winner!

  8. a true gem, that unless your biking on 9W, could drive by in a split second and not notice.

the girlfriend and I were staying at a nearby hotel and on the way to our hotel, saw that this place was chock full of people. At first glance, it just looks like a small little convenience store/shack for all the bicyclists in the area but it's WAY more than that.

So the next morning we stop by for breakfast and I had one of the best breakfast burritos in recent memory (which might of been a special?) and the perfect fuel for a day full of hiking. We come back later that day for some snacks and ice coffee and again, 9W did not dissapoint with perfectly tasting ice coffee, perfectly seasoned and cooked brussel sprouts and some smoked salmon that made me wet my shorts it was so good. The following day, we again stopped in for breakfast and split the egg sandwich with some double smoked bacon and again, just mouthwatering food, plus that ice coffee they serve is second to none.

The staff here is great and uber friendly (even when this place is jammed with tourists and cyclists) and while seating is limited inside, there is a ton of chairs and benches outside. Like someone mentioned in a previous review – if this place was in the 5 boros, it would be a gold mine and even more jammed than what it currently is, but I like that fact that's tucked away in this little corner of Palisade. Definitely stop by whether you're biking on by or in the area in general for some bomb ass grub.
