These burgers…have only appeared in my dreams.
I don't know if I can say that these are the best burgers I have ever had..but man they certainly come close.
I came for lunch as this place is close to my workplace in LIC (Queensboro Bridge area).
I shared half of the Dixie and half of Nancy with my friend. The Dixie was really awesome and if you are looking just for a simple burger no frills no cheese no drippiness…this is great and still packs a ton of flavor. The Nancy is indeed quite spicy with lots of spicy peppers and sriracha sauce packed on it. Both come on potato buns with sides.
The texture to the flavor to the juiciness of the burger…goodness you will definitely not regret putting your diet on hold for this.
The atmosphere is very 20s like with jazzy covers of modern pop songs like beyonce. Chill and laid back atmosphere. I will most definitely be back. The only other burger place around is corner bistro…. I can tell you for sure this place trumps that one 10 times fold.
A quaint, charming, and inviting place – serving pretty good assortment of wine and beers, as well as some awesome music. The kitchen isn't huge but offers a decent selection of yummy deliciousness, including one of the juiciest burgers I've had in a while. I absolutely love the decor and authenticity of the place – every piece was either made out of or brought in from various locations/materials found around the neighborhood; from the bar top itself, to the record album cover menus, to the wine bottle chandelier. The place even offers a wide selection of games in case talking just doesn't cover it anymore 🙂
A definite recommendation.
I had dinner here with a group of friends while visiting NYC for a bachelorette weekend. The space is small, but it was not overly crowded when we arrived at 8pm on a Saturday. The decor and overall ambiance is very cool. The menu has a saloon feel and the styles of burgers are cute and unique. Service was friendly and offered recommendations for two people in our group with food allergies. They even have a veggie burger, which I had and was delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their food as well, and it came at a reasonable price for the NYC area!
This place is located right next to the climbing gym. The burgers here are ok, you will get a Pat LaFreida patty of delicious meat on a potato bun servied with your choice of a wide variety of exciting toppings! The bun will disintegrate before you are done your burger so ask for extra napkins. This place could benefit from having an extra waiter. Last time we were there there was only one waiter and the poor guy was running around non stop- it took us FOREVER to get our bill.
The Baroness was close to my hotel and I needed lunch. The good news: I could smell the burgers from the street. The bad news: this place is not in my home town. *tears*
I had the Juliet burger with bacon, herb aioli, velveeta, pickles and citrus vinaigrette. It sounded like a hot mess and it was a very drippy, messy burger but it was H-E-L-L-A delicious. The meat was so good that I wish I'd gotten a classic burger with simpler toppings to really appreciate it. As a side item I had the jalapeño/bacon Mac and cheese whichwas more boring that anticipated but the pasta was cooked perfectly; I would not order it again.
I had two wine cocktails – the Cheap Date made with a Rose and the Something-I-Can't-Remember Cosmo made with Shiraz. The Cheap Date was pretty, light and refreshing and the Cosmo was the exact opposite – a kick you in the butt grown up cocktail.
Service was good; fairly fast to order and respond and was patient with my questions. Two thumbs up.
If more wine bars were like The Baroness, I would drink more wine.

I always wondered why my office chooses every other bar in the area but this one for happy hours and now I understand why.
The service is ridiculous. The bartenders seem to hate their jobs and make you feel as if you're bothering them when you ask for another drink.
The guacamole and chips were really tasty. The chicken wings are actually piece of chicken breast drizzled with sauce… What a joke.
I got the Suzy Q and it was really good. Despite not having asked how I wanted the meat cooked, it came out medium just the way I like it.
The drinks for happy hour are a little pathetic and barely have any alcohol. Don't see the need to return to this place. Way too many other great bars in the area.
I really liked the burgers here, but at 8pm on a weeknight, they already ran out of 2 of my top choices (hot buns sicilian burger with short rib and Bessy with mac and cheese). I was pretty disappointed and will be sure to call ahead next time. I had to go with my third choice, the Dixie, pretty much a plain burger with honey-molasses glaze. Burgers also come with a side.
I enjoyed the Dixie much more than I thought I would, given that it's such a plain burger. They were spot on executing the honey-molasses… it was infused into the inside of the bun.. with the outside of the bun soft and buttery. Oh it was delicious. Certainly a different experience than what I would've gotten from the messy Bessy with mac & cheese.. but I guess that just means there's something for everyone!
Pretty good beer selection as well and they're open to giving out samples before you commit.
Service was kinda slow, probably since we were towards the back, but that's no excuse.
TLDR; Pretty good burgers. I'd come back.
This isn't your typical burger joint. When you walk in, you can tell that it's going to be an experience. We made a reservation for a friend's birthday and everything went smoothly. They saved us seats. There are signs everywhere that they want you to take your time and enjoy your stay. This is pretty evident by the fact that they let you borrow games and play while you're eating and hanging out.
Our visit was particularly awesome because we bought a sabering lesson for our friend. It was $70 for the lesson and the bottle. Honestly, the champagne was pretty tasty, though this is more than I would normally pay.
Then they had regular happy hour. There was your typical cheap beers for $4, and then some craft beers for $5. I had a coffee stout that was pretty good. Then they had some wines and sangria for $6 and then some specialty drinks for $8. Not the greatest but the craft beers were pretty good.
Now on to the main thing, the burgers. Their selection of burgers is quite impressive. I got the Lucille, which had sundried tomatoes. Unfortunately, I was a little underwhelmed with the sundried tomatoes, as it was only on half of my burger, the other half of the burger had the roasted red peppers. I wish it was more uniform throughout the burger.
This place does not serve fries, which is perfectly fine, because you get other sides for free. I had the jalapeno bacon mac and cheese which was absolutely amazing. Personally, I can't take spicy that well, but this was the perfect amount of spicy for me. It was the perfect amount of cheesiness and was quite tasty.
The water that we got was cucumber water, which was awesome and you refill yourself so no waiting for someone to come and get it for you.
The service here was very nice. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating.
