  1. I've been to all The Bean locations in the city and this one by far has the coolest ambiance. It's located right on Bedford, so of course, its going to have a cool urban/artsy feel. They have the same selection, like large assortment of baked goods and bagels, smoothies, and long list of coffees.

I must say, I was a little disappointed in this Bean's service, which is why I gave it the rating I did. The staff came off unfriendly and really not helpful. I like asking coffee shop baristas for their coffee recommendation, so I went ahead and did. Unfortunately, they could have not been more apathetic about my coffee choice. I understand its a Saturday morning, but at least you could try to seem happy about serving coffee.

  2. One thing my friends and I noticed about Williamsburg: for an area with so many hipsters…All of their coffee shops close at 7PM on a Saturday! Who does that?!

Luckily, we discovered The Bean on the walk to the G train (it was running, guys!). It's a cute coffee shop, a bit larger than others in the area, with a huge selection of smoothies, coffee drinks, and coffee smoothies (I wonder what those taste like). I enjoyed the mocha with soy milk and for $4.75, it's slightly cheaper than some other coffee joints. My friends loved their cappuccino. We also split a cake that had a lovely lemon taste to it and was, surprisingly, vegan.

The atmosphere here is hipster-ish but not overly so. People on their MacBooks, computers and a printer you can choose, outlets to charge your various devices. A lot of people seemed to be ordering smoothies so I might need to give those a try the next time I go. I also appreciate they're open a few hours later than the other coffee shops in the area.

  3. Green-forward juices
    Music straight from TRL
    Laid-back coffee shop

  4. Friendly staff great selection of teas and coffees. The baristas kick but in this place…..kudos ladies keep up the good work.

  5. Popped in for a quick cappucino and dessert. Very cute and spacious coffee bar with desserts including yummy alfajores, macaroons and coffee.

  6. Not a bad spot to grab a coffee and snack in the land of hipster pretentiousness.

Wandering around Bedford Ave last night after a day of beer fun at the Brooklyn Brewery we were hard pressed to find a place to get caffeinated. Either most of the coffee joints were closed by 7pm or had little left to nosh on. As we headed further down the block we found The Bean which was open until 10pm.

Nice selection of coffees and hot/cold specialty drinks, an assortment of pastries including gluten free and vegan. free wifi, plenty of seating, a cozy and eclectic decor. Turned into a good place to sit for a while over a hot drink. Staff was ok and based on who serves you they either can offer a knowledgeable description of the snacks and cakes in the display, or have little to no opinon.

There is one large unisex bathroom here that is clean and offers some graffiti on the walls to look at, but not in a dive bar sense.

  7. Nice and cozy coffee spot.

We came here on what probably has been the coldest day of the year so far and were very happy that the business hours are convenient on Sunday evenings.

We all opted for hot chocolate to warm our body and souls. They have the option of soy and almond milk so it was 3 hot chocolates with almond milk! The hot chocolates were not too thick or rich, but definitely hit the spot. We all got desserts which we really liked. The vegan, gluten free cookies at the counter were wholesome but not on the heavy side. Not too sugary either. I got the green tea docky which is a vanilla cupcake glazed with green tea and chocolate topping. I really liked the cupcake as it wasn't dry or too sweet. The green tea was not bitter either so I think the cupcake was overall very tasty.
The hub got the mud pie which is globs and globs of chocolate… not too pretty but very chocolaty and the sweetest and richest of the desserts. Perfect for those with a sweet tooth!

There was honestly no need for dinner after we had our hot chocolates and filling desserts. This is a great chill spot and will definitely return when I'm in the area

  8. Not my favorite from all the other locations. Service seemed confused but then again it's coffee at a pinch. Desserts looked ok
