The Bean

“I had a tasty chai tea latte for $3.50 (a standard price for chai lattes).”

“As for the ambience, the place is bright and there is tons of seating including a couple of couches in the back so it's perfect for reading and studying.”

“Staff is nice, vibe is vey cool, and seating area (if it's not too busy), is amazing for people watching.”

  1. As of yesterday, the owner reached out to me, and sincerely apologized. They also took my advice and closed the gap. I really appreciate that they took action and handled it very well. Thank you!

  2. Fool me once, shame on you.  Fool me twice, shame on me.  I will never ever order macarons from The Bean ever again.  Just as expensive as the upscale kind (i.e Laduree, etc.), but ALWAYS stale.  Okay okay, I only got them on two occasions BUT both times the macarons were stale and I was disappointed.  Shame on you The Bean, SHAME!

  3. So much love for The Bean…stop in here anytime I'm in the city and have never once been disappointed. And while everything is good…the dirty chai is…there are no words. If I could write it a love song, I would. Pretty sure it's made from some kind of nectar of the gods. If I had only $5 left to my name I would spend it on one. It's that good! The first time I tried one…I laughed. I cried. It was better than Cats! (80s Broadway SNL reference…you had to be there.) Anyway…stop in and get one. You definitely need that in your life.

  4. Cute spot to and super friendly environment. (*****)

I had the hot chocolate and price for medium cost 4.50. It wasn't good for it's price. Who can make hot chocolate wrong? (****)

This is a great spot for any occasion. The bathroom was a bit smelly and the door was hard to open. (***)

  5. Coffee smoothie, wow, this was such a treat for my taste buds 🙂 The coffee shop was really cosy but the bathroom was really dirty.

  6. Not very clean. Never tried the coffee but all of the smoothies are apple juice based and hence super sugary. The girl making my smoothie looked like she had just rolled out of bed after a long night out and not changed or showered. Clearly the draw of this place is the free wifi and well lit space, but on a Saturday afternoon there was nowhere for this twosome to sit together because all of the college kids were taking up entire tables with just one person on a laptop and no sign of ever leaving.

  7. I stopped in here for to pick up a drink since I was using the cups app.  Service was good and the app worked flawlessly.  Their speciality drinks have cute names like Nutella Fitzgerald which I tried.  The Nutella was strong, but the flavor of the coffee still came through.  I'll have to try some of the other drinks on my next trip here.

  8. Came here Sunday midday to get a drink on the go

    Pros:
    – Good Chai Latte – decently priced (~$4 for small)
    – Bathroom – always important
    – Quick service
    – The atmosphere seemed really cozy – it's a pretty big place but when we went it was mostly packed

    Cons:
    – None
