The Blue Stove
“While you're here, ask for it to stay and treat yourself to a Key Lime pie as well.”
“Blue Stove is famous for it's decadent pies which range seasonally from strawberry rhubarb, peach, raspberry to pumpkin and pear.”
“Or maybe I just really like it how they bring my food to me so I don't have to awkwardly stand around and wait for my pie or quiche to get warmed up.”

I just can't get enough from you, I'm addicted! Why do I keep thinking about pie for breakfast , lunch, and dinner? I loved the blackberry rhubarb pie and apricot nectarine pie I recently bought but its now all gone.
Love love love love love this place. A hole in the wall in Greenpoint and so worth making yourself a local there. When I lived in Brooklyn for 3 months, I went almost every weekend. And whenever I go back I have to stop in. My favorite is the biscuit breakfast sandwich thats available on weekends. With egg, swiss, maybe sausage, and always roasted apples. Don't skip the roasted apples! They are incredible on the sandwich. And their biscuits are to die for.
If you happen to not be there on a weekend that still have some amazing tarts they will heat up for you. Not a bad idea to stop in and get one to go on the way to the subway. They are conveniently located.
All and any of their baked goods are amazing. They have incredible pies and would be great to order from for the holidays. The service is great and the workers are really kind. It kind of feels like your family's shop. Old school and adorable.
They even have apple cider and local apples on hand usually. Yum.
Go here often!
'Best pies ever'. Huh? Holy cannoli, I give up on Brooklyn bakeries.
Key lime pie was pretty terrible. Can only judge based on this one item, which really isn't fair. A lot of their baked goods looked excellent. They were out of the chocolate pie so went with key lime- it lacked the true tartness of really good key limes, not the usual graham cracker crust, which is fine but their regular crust tasted too hard and flavorless. The worst part was the completely stale tasting whipped cream on top — tasted like cream that had been left open in a fridge for a week with fridge odors!
My friend and I had just finished dinner in the area and we were looking for a dessert spot close by. I did a quick search on Yelp and found The Blue Stove. They had awesome photos and a great reputation. It happened to also be a block from where we were so we decided to check it out.
As soon as we walked in the entire shop smelled amazing! They offer so many different pie options to choose from. We both ordered a slice of the apple pie. I had mine with ice cream and my friend had hers with whipped cream. The pie was excellent! I normally prefer apple crumb, but this was great Apple pie and it hit the spot. The slice of pie was $5, which isn't bad. I added vanilla ice cream on top and my total came to $10, which I was surprised it came out to that much.
This is an adorable neighborhood spot and an awesome Yelp find! So glad I visited The Blue Stove tonight.
Blue Stove is a cute local spot. I come for breakfast biscuits, midday treats, and especially enjoy their pies. The flavors switch around, but there's usually something on the menu that I'm excited about. I'll be honest, I've had some pies too where I'd consider it a miss–for example, I've gotten a slice of a pear pie before where the pear was underdone. But for the hits, I think it's always been worth it for me to come back again.
The dine in environment is cozy; it isn't that big, but lovely. There's wifi, they take credit card, the service is delightful, and I feel the crowd this place draws in are pleasant people.
One additional highlight is the chicken pot pie. I'm a fan.
Sweet iced tea was refreshing on a 90 degree day and oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was absolutely divine. Sweet tea was not overly sweet. Would be an added plus if they added a fresh slice of lemon.
All of the pies look absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to go back to try them!
I am writing this review because when I was unfamiliar with the neighborhood, I had stumbled across this cafe to:
A) look at the desserts
B) see if they offered lunch food (not really – saw a quiche if that's your sort of thing)
I was greeted by a very kind woman behind the counter. She was eager to help me find a place that was suitable for myself and a toddler. Unfortunately, when I came back for dessert, she was gone. I really admire when a place has personable staff. The food could be fantastic, but if the staff isn't personable, I do not want to come back.
Look forward to trying the key lime pie!!
Pi day celebration (yeah a pretty late review)! didnt realize they would have a deal 2 1/8th slices of pie for the price of a 1/7th slice of pie
if you want a better selection come EARLY because by 4 pm they only had key lime left!
–key lime pie: i liked the top crust but wasn't a huge fan of the bottom crust, perhaps the pie had been sitting, key lime filling was not bad but i've had better
–CHICKEN POT PIE: the winner! flaky crust (they reheat it for you upon ordering) and the filling was delish!
they are known for pie but they also have other pastries, breads, quiches, & coffee drinks!
NOTE: no laptops on the communal table on the weekends since they need the seating! but there is free wifi
Excellent cold brew at a decent price. I didn't try the pie (wasn't in the mood for sweets–I know, how could I??) but I did have a muffin which was humongous, definitely worth the buck. I had the blueberry muffin which came with plentiful blueberries inside, and I liked how it was a little doughy and the top slightly crunchy but not too sweet. Friend and I sat here for two hours just talking over coffee on a hot summer afternoon. There's a long communal table in the middle of the shop, and then some seats by the window and off to the wall. Good for working; I saw some laptoppers while I was there. Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely return to try the pie.
