1) The past few times I've gone, I was told "no ostrich."”

“This burger joint is literally 20 steps from my front door, but it took me and my boyfriend forever to try it.”

  1. Nothing especially good, nothing especially bad. It'll be interesting to see how long they stay around considering Williamsburg's wealth of restaurants.

Burgers were tiny and pretty bland. I'm not a fan of Williamsburg anyway, so I'd take Burger Bistro or Bareburger over this place any day. A note if you're used to one of those spots: the spinach wrap here is NOT like the lettuce wraps at a lot of other NYC joints. I expected a burger on a bed of lettuce, but this was a wrap with the spinach flavoring.

I wouldn't say no if someone suggested it, but I wouldn't make a special trip to come back.

  2. We sat at the bar and ordered some drinks and burgers. The drinks were tasty, strong but tasty. The floor manager was funny, nice and personable. We shared the spinach artichoke dip which cane with chips AND pita bread so you get the best of both worlds 🙂 We both really like our burgers. They tasted fresh, were cooked perfectly medium rare, and they were juicy but the bun stayed crisp. Soggy buns suck  Fries were nice and crispy and tasted awesome with their spicy ketchup dipping sauce. After walking around Brooklyn for an hour at 130 in the afternoon, everyplace we walked into was only still serving brunch.  We were so happy to find a good, reasonably priced place to get a burger.

  3. Ehh, I came here with a group of friends. I voted for it but completely forgot that I'm on a diet, so burgers are pretty out of the question. The food is okay and the portions are more than adequate, but their special sauce is the weirdest tasting thing I've ever had. It's supposedly made with olives, but it has a fruity taste to it.

Because I can't speak for any of the unique burgers, I can't tell you that it's worth the journey to Williamsburg.

  4. Maybe I was really happy with the food here because I was starving, but still!  I don't understand why there were a lot of negative reviews.  Maybe it's because of the slow service.  Our appetizers came along with the entree, which I think we made clear that we were starving people.  JUST GIVE US FOOD.  Probably a miscommunication there.  I'll let it slide.  My turkey burger did not taste like a turkey at all, it was almost like beef.  Delicious.  Not dry, just like how I like it!  I added the n.8st spin on my burger and the cheese was sooo good. I almost died.  Our appetizer was the trio and it was amazing!  The guru sauce I could drink.  Ok, no I won't do that.  But wow.  Nomnomonom.  Will probably come back.  It reminded me of a different version of bareburger.  And I'm okay with that.

  5. First off, I would like to say that the space here is really nice. It's a little confusing to have to go through the front door to get to the open garage door space, but the back area has a lot of nice natural lighting and ceiling fans, so you can enjoy your meal with a bit of climate control. Also, I didn't actually try any of the burgers, but they looked quite large and delicious, and the place was relatively full, so I'm assuming that the food was a major attraction for this restaurant. However, that won't be enough to get me back here.

A major con to this place is that the waitstaff and management seem to be pretty clueless. We asked if there were any specials, and the manager had to go to the front of the restaurant, where there was a banner, listing their specials, to find out what the specials were. The waitress we had, as well as the bartender behind the bar didn't know either. You should probably what your restaurant is selling, brah. That's like Management 101. C'mon son. Moreover, once he did find out what the specials were, he said they weren't valid because it was the day of the Kentucky Derby, and they had a different special going on. Oy vey. Way to change the rules on us. As a result, we just got a few beers and decided to go elsewhere for food.

For those craving a burger, you should try Juniper, a few doors down. Service is better and won't cause you headaches.

  6. This is a nice little spot,  They have really friendly staff a nice atmospher and some pretty tasty burgers.  Loved the fricklets (fried pickles).  Be warned they are a bit pricey ($15 for a burger).

  7. Was recommended by a friend to check this place out. The food was decent. Service was good but definitely overpriced for what it is. I dont mind paying 20 bucks for a burger but it better be amazing. Dont know if i would go out of my way to come back to this place.

  8. This is a cool spot in Williamsburg to grab a burger. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip. The dip is without a doubt house made. With little pieces of pita bread on the side you can't go wrong. You definitely won't want to eat to much of that though as the burgers are huge. I had a classic burger with onion rings and french fries. I definitely thought that the burger was good. This place is bright and airy in the back area. With a relaxed and chill environment you can definitely enjoy your food and chat at the same time. Some of the other spots in Williamsburg are really crowded and loud. Perfect spot to grab a burger I definitely recommend!
