  1. I'm going with a 3.5 on this one.  Stopped in here last week. Enjoyed it, but there are a few thing s they can change that would bump this up a star for me.  Let's get started.
The place doesn't look like much from the outside. Inside it has a very cool retro 50's look to it.  Average sized menu options. Along with the burgers they have hot dogs, chicken fingers, wraps, etc…… The standard burger joint items.  While they do have a better than average burger selection, what I have been noticing is that they pretty much offer what every other burger place that is popping up does.  I'd like to see some items that are unique to this place alone. With the onslaught of burger places opening up, they should all be thinking outside the box and not copying what all the others are doing.

That said, we stepped up to the counter and ordered. Nothing crazy. A cheeseburger and a bacon cheeseburger.  Some bacon cheddar waffle fries to help boost the cholesterol levels!  They give you a pager to let you know when your order is ready.  we get our orders and here is where they lost it for me. My son takes a bite of his burger and the cheese slides right out of it!! It wasn't melted at all!!!!!!  Mine wasn't that much better!!  That is a major burger sin!!!!!!!   Looking past that, the burger was cooked nicely and had good flavor. Fresh lettuce and tomato were crisp. Very good buns too!  The bacon cheddar waffle fries were good as well, just not as big of an order as I've gotten in other spots. All in all, they have something nice here that with a few little tweaks could really be something. I hope they read this and put it to use. In my world, there can't be too many burger joints and I would love to add them to my list!!

  2. There's one where I live in Bound Brook.  I always get my Bullseye BBQ Burger which has Crispy Onion Straws, Bacon, Bullseye BBQ Sauce, Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato and Mayo on a Fresh Baked Miami Onion Bun with side order of Sweet Potatoe Fries WHOOOOO!!

This new one that opened in Matawan is close to where my sister lives. I decided to change it up and get a Chipotle Bison Burger which is Fossil Farms Natural Raised Buffalo Meat Marinated in Chipotle Seasonings, Topped w/Crispy Onion Straws, Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, and Mayo on a Fresh Baked Bun with a side order of…..you guessed it "Sweet Potatoe Fries", im basically saying that any burger you get you must have these fries!! THE BEST…the burgers are awesome too!!

  3. The aspiring Vegan in me has been losing a lot of battles lately. And places like The Burger Shop aren't helping. Sometimes the body just craves a greasy, crunchy hamburger patty, topped with oozey, gooey cheese, and one's choice of accoutrements. And sometimes you just gotta scratch that itch.

That itch came on real strong the other day.

Unfortunately, there's a lot of really bad burgers out there. And the better burgers tend to be mediocre at best. If I'm going to use one of my proverbial "burger cards" in a given month, I want that burger to be awesome. And that is generally why I migrate toward places like Five Guys and Shake Shack, who undoubtedly rule their category of fast casual burger joints.

Well, there's a new guy on the block.

I'm pretty sure The Burger Shop was once a 25 Burgers, which I recall not being all that great. Whatever the case may be, the burgers here are excellent. Cooked smashburger-style, the grill chef gets a great sear and crunch on both sides of the patty, locking in all that juicy deliciousness inside. As a rule though, the burgers are cooked medium to medium-well here. I prefer a bloody medium rare, but as long as the patty isn't dried out, this style is fine from time to time.

There's something for everyone here, even my vegetarian wife and my super-finicky children. The boy loves his chicken nuggets, mozzarella sticks, and milkshakes. Check, check, and check. My daughter loves a well-done grilled hot dog and fries — and they've got that, too. And the old lady gets to rock a veggie burger dressed up just the way she likes it. Happy children, happy wife: happy life.

I highly recommend the Trenton Burger, topped with crispy, thin-sliced pork roll, and a generous amount of American cheese. If you're from out of town and never heard of pork roll (aka Taylor Ham), then you're in for one helluva treat. (It's a Jersey thing.)

The decor is definitely a click above Five Guys, with a retro '50s diner-like feel. Inside, the place is immaculately clean. Service comes with a smile, and our complicated order was executed perfectly.

    We'll be back.

  4. Great burgers

The burgers are pretty good.  if you don't like the one you got, I am sure you can find one you like within the 25.
The fries were a rip off and poorly seasoned.  it was also kinda soggy.  maybe use olive oil?

setting is mixed between a 1950s diner and 5 guys.  clean though.

  5. This place looks like Five Guys and Cheeburger Cheeburger had a kid….red and white checkered walls with framed pictures of dead celebs all around.

When I think Burger I think Beef and 1/3 of the 25 Burgers are not beef!!!  While (admittedly) not as catchy, maybe 25 Patties would have been a better name.

Been here three times. Each time I order a burger…nothing else.

The flavor as a whole is delicious but what I've come to realize is the burgers (beef I mean), while juicy, are really bland! There is no seasoning on the burger. So what you are left with is a mediocre beef patty and yummy toppings. Even the rolls themselves are delicious.

Last visit I ordered the Philly Burger. I ordered it to go and with no ketchup. I heard the girl tell the cook "No Ketchup"…I saw him reply "No Ketchup?!?!?" She replied, "Yes, No Ketchup". He smiled. Ten minutes later the burger is done (kind of a long time) put in a bag out I go. I enter my car and decide to check before I leave….not only is there ketchup but it looks as though he put extra ketchup on it?!?!?! I'm not some ketchup snob…I do like it in moderation….as such when it comes to burgers I prefer to put what I want on it and not leave it to someone who doesn't know my taste-buds.  I walk back into the restaurant alert the girl behind the counter of my problem and she says no problem well make you another. I see her question the cook, he claims she said no Mayo , I exclaim "No, she said no ketchup, I heard her, and I heard you ask her a second time…." he rolls his eyes and I hear the sizzle of a new burger go on the griddle. That's about the time the manager walks past me….not to ask if ever thing is okay or to ask what the problem is….she walks past to refill her beverage.

This place could easily be a 4 star, after my last visit it would be a 3 star, since the management is poor and allows this place to linger in mediocrity I give it two stars. a lot of reviews say  "the place was busy so I…." The three times I've been here I was the only customer.

  6. Came here for a meet!!  What a selection of burger to choose from.. I decided on the Cuban burger which i thought was really good which i accompanied that with a shake and fries. Overall great place if im in the neighborhood i will def be back..

  7. Pretty damn good. I've been left hungry after waaay to many $10 hamburgers recently and I found myself full after my most recent 25 burgers visit. If you look through my reviews you would think I may never return to a 25 burgers as I bashed the Bound Brook one pretty hard. Sometimes it's the only option and I'm glad I gave them a second change. I got some sort of Tex Mex burger with a grilled green chilli on it and some other stuff. The problem I have with this place is that as soon as I order I find a different burger I probably would have preferred. My girlfriend hates that I do this everywhere we eat. Even after we order I like to keep a menu and read the other options that could have been. The Bound Brook location was and ice cold shack, but this was a put together sit down and eat type place. Almost like Fudruckers where you don't have the pressure of a waitress, but feel welcomed to stay and sit like a restaurant. Fudruckers had beer though….oh man I miss the Fuds by my house…..but back to the review. My girlfriend liked her veggie burger and fries were Ok . If I was in the area again I'd have an other burger, but I don't feel the need to test my luck and drive to Bound Brook.

  8. This is the quintessential burger joint. It's conveniently placed in a strip mall, but once you enter it's like being transported back 50+ years. The menu is basic; burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, milk shakes, etc… but they do have numerous variations based on what you're in the mood for. I went with the Six Alarm Burger and my wife went with a BBQ Chicken sandwich and we split an order of chili cheese fries. Everything was cooked right there, per order, on the spot and nothing was too greasy. The toppings were all fresh and the burgers were a decent size. This is the place to go when you're in the mood for a good burger. The food is good, the service is fast and the atmosphere is relaxed. Definitely a place we'll be coming back to.
