The creativity, freshness, and taste of the doughnuts here is outstanding. We tried the cinn-a-crumb, French toast, and vanilla cream crumb doughnuts which were are all delicious. The staff was very friendly and dedicated to providing a great experience.
If you're interested in trying the maple bacon doughnut, then you better come early. They were sold out around 1:00 PM on the day we went.
Ordered: Maple bacon
Pros– The doughnut was a perfect balance between heavy and light. The bacon bits were decently sized and went well with the sweetness of the maple. I also liked that the doughnuts were of a small-medium size so that you could have room to try other flavors.
Getting donuts from here is the way to go. They are the perfect size so that you can actually be happy with just having one, or depending on your appetite, have a couple or few to eat different flavors. The flavors of donuts are creative and fun, and the shop itself is small and cute, which fits its donuts appropriately. They are not expensive and we usually leave with many to save for later. The dough is fresh and soft, and the variety is great.
Little hut hiding jewel in long beach full of frye Donuts. (Heaven)
Spotted from the corner of my eye while driving down Beech st.
wooooooww Delicious and fresh perfect for a morning commute to the beach. Melts in you mouth and the variety in flavor are out this world, From Maple Bacon, s'mores, Holy Cannoli, etc. You won't miss, is a Party in my tummy.
Saw commutes getting the ice coffee, they seem to have a good one, can wait to try it as well. Gives me another reason to come back. My little treasure before a full day at the beach.
I was a happy camper. My donut was tasty. I got the fruity pebble with pink frosting! The donut was lite, fluffy, great combo and not to sweet. It wasn't greasy either. The have a rack and all the donuts are on them and when they are sold out they take a flag out of the donuts in the two racks in the front. (I didn't know them). When we got up to the front we told her we wanted one of each new they were sold out of everything except ONE fruity pebble and cinnamon! So my friend gave her a debit/credit card and she said "cash only". When my friend was going to get cash out of the ATM I asked the lady where the sign was she said it says ATM only on the outside.
By the time she came back the sprinkle donuts were being made so we got one of those. Six donuts total for 7 bucks. Great deal! In the city they are a little bigger but 4 bucks each. So all of those donut lovers this is a great deal.
I know it's a small location, but why is there ONE person making donuts on a Sunday? To be really honest I don't get it. Even if you came in super early it doesn't make any sense. People love their donuts and coffee on a Sunday its, "Sunday Funday" so we are going to need someone else to help with donut making on the weekends!
When I walked outside I checked for the "ATM only" sign, which it does. Although, it doesn't say cash only anywhere. I know I'm NOT brand new or do I own a business, but they need a sign. I mean there was a BOA down the street and my friend could've went there to avoid the fee, but NOOOO we waited in a very long line to not know they were cash only.
Anyways it's over and done with. I suggest if you are in the area stop by and get a donut or five!
We got home and I tried the donut and it was fresh and delicious too. I liked the flavors and if wasn't anything I accepted. I enjoyed it very much.
I love doughnuts. Well, previously it was Dunkin' that I was referring to, until I went here this morning for a little sweet pre-beach breakfast/snack. Holy lord of doughnuts what have I been eating before I came here?! The Dough Hut is tiny, and something you might drive right by heading down West Beech Street. But keep your eyes peeled because your stomach will thank you later for introducing you to some of the best doughnuts you'll ever consume. I came with my mother (mother/son beach bonding time) and we ordered four doughnuts (though I honestly wanted more than that from the interesting varieties they were offering). Our choices were vanilla butter cream, French toast, s'mores, and key lime. The inside of The Dough Hut is small with some counter space towards the back, so we took our doughy choices to go and ate em a few minutes later with some coffee (see other Long Beach reviews for coffee location). Each doughnut encompassed that doughy taste you expect from a doughnut, but with such a unique and light freshness. And the toppings of each doughnut were incredible. I tasted the French toast and vanilla butter cream (mom's choices) which both were accurately titled as the flavor matched the style. Mine were the other two which were dough-lightful. The s'mores had amazing, melted marshmallow on top along with a sweet chocolate glaze, while the key lime was sliced in half and spread with a creaminess that resembled that of the pie along with a lovely lime glaze on top. I'll be dreaming about that key lime doughnut tonight. Overall, I'll be dreaming about The Dough Hut until I return, which is bound to happen soon. I'm just worried I'll order every doughnut next time!
Went to the Dough Hut on a Sunday morning (10am-ish?) in January. There was one girl working and I did notice that the shop is TINY. There wasn't too much of a selection, but I will acknowledge that I came in after 10am and they open very early, so it could be that I just missed the variety and quantity by being late. The girl was somewhat friendly, even though I had no idea what I wanted. I bought a dozen. The prices were fair, especially for a small business (as opposed to a huge chain like Dunkin'). Doughnuts range from $1 to over $3 each, depending on the type, but for the handcrafted specialty doughnuts available, I see that as fair. Just as a side note, THIS SHOP IS CASH ONLY, so make sure to bring an Andrew Jackson with you.
I will admit that they were a bit smaller than I had imagined, but seeing as I bought a dozen doughnuts and planned to eat more than one, I don't think I needed them to be any bigger. They were extremely aesthetically pleasing and each one was a delightful pleasure in its own glory. I don't know if I can say that these are the best doughnuts I've ever eaten, but I thoroughly enjoyed them and plan to return -hopefully I can drag my lazy ass there a little earlier next time!

I think it's important to share that unlike with Dunkin' Donuts or Krispy Kreme, I didn't feel like a complete Fatty McButterpants after I ate 2 doughnuts. I don't really believe in "just one" of anything, but I didn't feel weighed down or like I had a grease-rock sitting in my stomach afterwards. You can actually taste the difference and freshness of these doughnuts.
I challenge anyone to find a better donut (doughnut?) in Nassau or Suffolk Counties. I'd be curious to know if even the east forks had a better donut shop. Very fresh, and open at 6 am, for those who need their donuts early. The donuts are on the small side, but that's good, since they pack so much flavor (and fat, but if you're worried about fat then whatever are you doing in a donut shop). I'm not sure I have a favorite, but I haven't tried the donuts I don't think I would like, so there's that.
