Nice, local pub. Bar up front and quiet area in back. Doesn't get too loud/crowded like Stone Street.
I must say I was completely surprised by the quality of food.
It was the best (and biggest) Salmon BLT I have ever had — chef even went out of way to get some avocado to add for me. It was expensive but delicious!
Good irish soda type bread too.
Surprisingly, even though their dishes are pricey, I would definitely return for the food (since I am nearby)!
Great atmosphere, decent bartender on my visit (actually Irish) twelve taps including Southwick, Harp, Guinness, Old Speckled Hen, Yuengling, Long Trail, Stella. Thankfully no Bud or Coors Lite. Two flatscreens behind the bar.
I ordered a cheeseburger for lunch which was fine.
With an office full of people from Belfast, Ireland and other areas of the UK, the place has become a regular for my co-workers. They love the interior because it reminds them of home.
The very large dining area in the back is a favor for some quiet chatting or some noise celebrating. For me it is only a short walk from our office building so it is easy to run down for a drink and snack and run back to finish some late work.
We usually start with a Half Platter for $36; it includes wild wings, mozzarella sticks, crisp fried calamari, chicken fingers with sauces and garnish with veggie sticks.
They have a full platter for $52 but everyone prefers the half platter for some reason.
The cocktails are mostly $10 each (favors are the Hazelnut chocolate martinis) so it is beer for most of us.
Overall, it is cozy and a nice place to stop for a drink.

I had the penne alla vodka and it was probably the best pasta I've had in a pub! The service was great as well– seemed like only one guy was working but he was doing a great job. Very cozy, lots of space, great atmosphere for a casual dinner and drink. The music selection was also spot on!
I wanted to get dinner on Stone Street but there was a street fair going on and it was way too crowded. So we wandered down Pearl Street and stumbled upon this place. It is a bit overpriced but the atmosphere is chill and the waitress was really nice.
I don't like spending $9 on 6 chicken wings or $15 on two small pieces of fish for my fish and chips. I thought this place was too expensive. If the prices were way lower I would bump it up a star.

The Full Shilling is one of those NY Irish Pubs, that's been around for a while, that's not hip or expensive or trying to serve fancy cocktails or fancy food. It is what it is – a standard NY Irish pub.
What I mean by that, is that if I think of a true Irish pub, without any NY influence, then I'd say the Dead Rabbit nearby is that place. That being said, it's much more expensive and not as easy to just walk in, grab a pint and sit down for food. Most of the time you need reservations, it's packed, etc. Molly's (on 3rd ave) is another authentic Irish Pub, but it's been fairly NY influenced, in my opinion.
The Full Shilling on the other hand is user friendly. You can almost always get a table or seat at the bar, there's no reservations needed and it's never really packed, so you don't have to wait 10 minutes to get your drink or have your drink made.
Plus, the Interior of the Bar and the back bar was Shipped directly from Belfast, Ireland and is over 100 Years Old. So that's pretty cool.
I've been coming here since 2003 when I worked nearby at Deutsche Bank, and was definitely one of our after-work spots as there was literally NOTHING in the Financial District, other than a few hole-in-the wall bars at that time.
Came here for Lunch on St. Patty's Day 2016. Got a Guinness & a Burger, both were good. The Food overall is pretty good pub food, but nothing spectacular.
I'd put the Full Shilling in the same category as some of the other NY Irish Pubs in the city (below), although these are my favorites, over the Full Shilling to be honest:

O'Hara's
So if you're in the Financial District and want something more "Irish" then go to Dead Rabbit, and if you want something more "New Yawk" then go to O'Hara's, which was the pub of choice for all the 9/11 Responders (NY cops, firemen, etc.).
But, if you're looking for a good blend, a "NY Irish Pub", which is something down the middle, then the Full Shilling is a great option.
Irish bar in the city. Off the beaten path but good selection of beers and scotches, whiskeys etc. Even had the shrimp roll apps which hit the spot!
