  1. Came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. I had two eggs over medium. They came with home fries and toast for under $5.  Food was good. Service was awful. I would recommend they buy new drink glasses and coffee cups. The ones they use are scratched and cloudy.

  2. Decided to try this Diner out after leaving our usual weekend place (Pompton Queen) because it was soooooo busy and didn't want to wait.   Arrived about 11:45ish and it was pretty packed as well (good sign) and were seated promptly.  Menu wasn't anything special, just your common Diner menu and I ordered the Western Omelet and my wife ordered two eggs, over medium..  Both asked for well done hash browns and Rye toast..  We also ordered a hot tea and an iced tea, both brought pretty quickly…  Food arrived within a decent amount of time, very hot and was cooked perfectly.  Potatoes were crispy and yummy.  The Rye bread was overly buttered, but you could just wipe off the excess butter if you want too.  One thing I didn't like about my Western Omelet was it looked like scrambled eggs, with the onions, green peppers and ham, and just folded over to make it look like an Omelet.  I thought an Omelet was eggs that covered the meat/veggies inside the meal and was served as an egg pocket filled with yummy happiness…  But I guess this is how they make them here..  Anyhow, it was very good and my wife and I gobbled up our breakfast…  Now, I'd give it 4ish stars if the service wasn't so bad…  Not once did our server ask if we needed anything (like refills on our tea's) and pretty much disappeared after she brought us our food.  I did see her going back and forth to other tables, taking orders, passing our table a few times, and it would have been nice to be asked if we were ok..  I finally had to flag her down to get a refill on my Iced Tea (as I saw another table do the same thing for a refill of their coffee)..  She took my used glass and re-filled it back up.. no new lemon or anything (big pet peeve of mine….  Get me a clean glass and a fresh lemon wedge…  ) and didn't ask my wife if she would like a fresh glass of hot tea…  So, we finished our meals and…..  and….. waited for about 15 mins for her to acknowledge us.  We saw our server take 3 other tables orders and bring out 2 tables of food while we were sitting there waiting for her to come over to our table.  Finally, she spoke to us…  "I'll get your check…"  Didn't ask if we needed anything else.  I don't know if it was our bill total ($17.23) and thought she'd get a few bucks tip and because of that, didn't need to show attention to us?  We paid our bill and left….

Pro's:  Priced very good, food came out fast, very tasty and cooked to our liking.
Con's:  Service (and it could have just been our server)

I would recommend this place, but with so many other options in the area, hard to come back to a place where the service wasn't up to par.

  3. Went on a Sunday morning for breakfast w/ my friend and her lil kids. They were friendly as they knew them well. Service was fast but food was subpar. Corned beef hash was really not good and def not homemade (I really didn't expect it though), homefries were not seasoned and dry, eggs overlight were made just right though. The kids' chocolate chip pancakes were really good.

  4. I don't go to diners for seafood, steaks, meatloaf, triple decker sandwiches or mile high pies. For me, there is only one meal to be had-Lox and onion omelette, well done home fries and rye toast with a good cup of coffee. I've had this very same meal at dozens of diners throughout New Jersey. From the horrifically bad to mighty fine.

The server here was really cool and friendly. But she tried to talk me out of ordering my favorite diner meal. She recommended the crepes. Nope. Not for me.

Omelette here was really good and the home fries were really well done. Made me very happy. Great coffee too.

    Nice place to stop.

  5. I'm still adjusting to living in this area in terms of breakfast/brunching after coming from the city where there were endless brunch spots with in a 0.5 mile radius, which led me to this place last weekend.

It seemed like a very "everyone knows your name" kind of place, which I liked. Having regulars is always a good sign. I decided to order eggs Benedict for take out and was promptly greeted by a server who took my to go order and asked if I wanted a drink while I waited. The food came out within 10 minutes and was fresh and tasty. I wouldn't say it was the best Eggs Benedict ever (I'm slightly spoiled/biased from eating this dish at some top notch brunch places in the city) but it was definitely satisfying. It also came with home fries which were very yummy. I will definitely be back to dine in.

  6. Located on 23 South just after the jeep Chrysler dealership is the Galaxy Diner. Went with the Taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwich. It was filling but nothing extraordinary. I also tried some waffle and pancake and must say everything fit the bill, so I'd return….
