Great place on the UWS for cheap beer and food. It has a fun laid back atmosphere, and is always pretty loud.
If you're looking for an up scale bar with a more sophisticated crowd then keep walking; but if you want a nice break from the sometimes uptight feel of the UWS then this is the place for you!
This is your typical sports bar. I've been here a couple of times before just because it's a convenient bar in the area. No cover of course and cheapish drinks, though if you get a mixed drink, there's barely any alcohol in it. Service sucks but no more than what you would expect. When it's nice outside, you can sit outside on picnic tables which is nice. This place is also always a little bit crowded but not too crowded so it's a good back up if you can't get in to other places.
Half off drinks/pitchers/anything from the bar until 8 pm and other daily happy hour specials. Need I say more? The Gin Mill is the perfect place to go with a big group of friends to enjoy some delicious bar food or have a beer pong tournament in the back. This place brings you back to the good old college days playing pong without it actually smelling like old beer haha. Great place to watch sports games too!
This is a good spot for happy hour. Wasn't too crowded this 4th of July wknd but the bartenders here were friendly and were quick to keep our drinks more than half full. I felt bad cos the one cute bartender wld say sweet nothings while giving me my drink and I think I didn't pay enough attention to her cos I was listening to the Euros 2016 on my phone lol. I'm told the food is good but I enjoyed the happy hour n the good staff
Gin Mill! Love it here. Great prices, fun crowd and decent bar food. It get's super crowded here when something big sports wise is happening so get there early if you are planning to watch a game!
Perfect spot for day drinking, it won't burn a hole in your pocket. What is also nice about this place is the location. There are plenty of food and bars around here so if it gets too crowded you can go next door and come back to Gin Mill once the crowd dies down.
Great bar in the UWS! My husband and I stumbled up on this place and chose it due to the all day (before 8 PM) half price bar.
We ended up getting a great seat near the TV and watched a WVU Mountaineer's game for the afternoon.
The place plays great music, think 90's rock/alternative.
I would definitely recommend and return!
You don't come here for food. You come here for Happy Hour (1/2 price beers). And on Sunday/Mondays and some other days- happy hour is all day and night. Lot's of screens for games and it's loud here – but there are a few tables for outdoor seating.
Cheap Booze.. What more can you say.
They have a Happy Hour.. 11:30am till 8pm… THEN an evening special as well
