My only complaint is that there aren't enough tables at this little Greek restaurant with terrific food and a very friendly owner!
The Greek Town Grille gets 5 Stars, no doubt about it!
The ladies and gents of The Greek Town Grilled welcomed this new patron with open arms. Yes the place is small, and sure it doesn't look like much from the outside but please don't let looks deceive you. Behind these doors you will find heavenly Greek food.
Upon entering I had a brief chat with the lady behind the counter (possibly the manager) and mentioned it was my first time. She told me that most menu items are part of a lunch special and asked what I was interested in trying. I ordered the chicken souvlaki pita which comes with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions along with a serving of tzatziki sauce on the side. The lunch specials come with a free lemon chicken soup for a total of $6.45. You can add fries or a salad for an extra $3 and I opted for the fries. I grabbed a 20 oz. soda and requested an additional tzatziki sauce on the side. The order came up to roughly $13.
I patiently sat and watched TV while I waited. My food was ready before I could blink. I especially liked that you can see over the wall into the kitchen area so you can observe your food as it's being cooked. I grabbed my food to go.
After a brief ride back to work I was prepared to dig in. Everything was packed well and my order was right, so far so good. The fries were crispy, I gave them a light coating of salt and dipped them into my tzatziki sauce. Yum! The souvlaki was stacked. At first I thought it was just full of lettuce since it was sitting at the top but when I bit into it I noticed several large perfectly char-broiled chunks of chicken. The chicken was really tasty too. I poured a little tzatziki sauce on top and devoured it in minutes. The soup was good too but I didn't have much room for it after this filling meal so I saved it for later. The soup had a great balance of creamy and tangy flavors without being overly sour. I didn't even need the extra tzatziki. The first serving was more than enough as a topping for whole meal even as a dip for my fries too
I normally find at least one thing that I feel could be improved about a meal but this entire experience was spot on amazing! I would also say this is the best Greek I've had in the area so far. They just earned themselves a new regular customer.
I do have a new menu suggestion though. Perhaps they could add a Greek chicken salad pita to the menu with olives and feta. OMG! that sounds sooooo good! My souvlaki pita was perfect, don't get me wrong but if you add Feta cheese that would make it outstanding. As an avid cheese lover I'd pretty much put cheese on anything and everything.
