Probably spent half my college life and thousands of dollars at this place. My favorites are the Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai, Roti Canai and the Spicy Chicken. They've recently updated their menu and added a few cool new options. They have an excellent collection of bubble teas and a house blend Green/Jasmine tea that's complimentary. Although it's not what I would call Authentic Southeast Asian food, it definitely takes me back home for a bit. It has a homely/dinner type vibe. Great for larger groups and casual dinners with friends. Really wish they'd start delivering, it would be great for students closeby.
This was place was OK, but not super authentic. Went here for a vegan dinner. They're good about catering to vegetarian and vegan needs. Once we ordered the vegan chicken with our dishes, our waitress clarified our order and made sure to ask if we also wanted our food without eggs. I had the pad kee mao with vegan chicken. It looked like pad kee mao, but it did not taste like pad kee mao. It was much sweeter than I've had at any strictly Thai restaurant, and it was not spicy at all. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I was expecting. The vegan chicken had a different texture than the vegan chicken I've had at other places. It had the texture of Korean fishcakes, but it tasted pretty good.
I hear the bubble tea and tofu is good, so I'll try them when I come back.
Came here for dinner with friends and did not disappoint. We got several of the classic dishes: Thai basil, coconut shrimp, pad see yu, and red curry. Ever dish was not a disappointment. I would definitely go back here again.
I've been here multiple times and I keep coming back because it's just a nice family restaurant to have your Asian fusion type of food.
The restaurant is small and cozy that seats about 50-60 max. There really aren't other words to describe this place other than it being clean, small, and cozy.
The menu contains a variety of Thai and Chinese influence. Curry dishes are available as well as crispy tofu, calamari, and noodle/rice dishes you're probably used to from PF Changs.
My go-to dishes are as follows : crispy tofu (from the appetizers). This dish comes with at least 8-10 pieces of fried tofu with a sweet brown sauce. Roti Cani comes with prices of Roti rather than a large piece to peel off. Curry on the side would've be better, but it does its job as an appetizer. There's a string bean dish that I always get with chicken (each entree comes with your choice of meat/vegetarian option). This dish is delicious with brown rice because of the spices added to the string beans. I had the Thai sweet and sour chicken for the first time last night and it was ok. The dish came with a LOT of chicken which is perfect for sharing and leftovers. The chicken was cooked throughly and the sweet and sour sauce did not disappoint
I would suggest this place for locals. The food isn't amazing but it's not bad at all. Surprisingly for a Saturday night at 8pm, the restaurant wasn't packed at all. I've definitely seen this place hopping a few times during the weekend….maybe it's the holidays!
Everything about this place is great, the lighting, the decor, the tables, seating, table setting, the service itself, and the food. I love this spot. Thai basil with shrimp. To. Die. For. I'm a bit of a bubble tea addict and lately, to my disappointment, the tapioca has been stale and tasted old. I have experienced this on several different occasions. It was concerning. I hope they step their game up, I can't wait to come back and update my review to this location.
More Asian than Thai but good enough for take out. The food quality us good but the flavor is a bit bland. Ginger chicken is good when you ask for extra ginger. I could have sworn I tasted something like ketchup in the Pad Thai so I can't say I'm a fan of that dish. Their prices are reasonable but I really can't compare it to the great Thai Restaurants on the West Coast where you get a true influence of flavors from Thailand.
Dear Green Papaya: congratulations! In one simple visit you have gained a diehard fan. Between the flavorful food, friendly service and abundance of veg options, I'm bound to become regular as of yesterday.
Let's start with the menu. It's well written and descriptive, not just a typical rattling off of ingredients. Fellow vegheads: this joint is right up our alley. With meatless options for a majority of their dishes, be prepared for some tough decisions.
I settled with my usual M.O.: soup and salad. Okay, so no exaggeration, the vegetarian version of their tom yum soup is to freaking die for. The broth is more flavorful than any soup I've ever had in my life, and for $4, it's a must-try. I also got their house salad with crispy tofu which was yum. Green Papaya's tofu is made in-house, fresh, from scratch. How cool is that?? Free fragrant and tasty jasmine green tea is also a plus.
The service was great! Super friendly and attentive. My sole criticism is the decor. Pretty haphazard, nothing really goes together. Eg, the ceiling fans are literally for a little girl's room. But who cares? Hard to notice how ugly pink and orange are together when you're stuffing your face with freaking awesome food.
SoOo happy I found you, Green Papaya. Be prepared to see this face often in the future. I can't wait to try the vegan chicken next time!
This is a pretty good Thai restaurant! Although I've had better Thai cuisines here in America, this one is pretty good too. They have dishes I've never had in Thai restaurants before so that was good. I ordered their coconut shrimp meal for lunch and it was so filling! The coconut flakes and the breaded shrimp was sweet and mixed in with the rice… Heaven!! I'll probably go back soon to try another dish!
