  1. I love hummus. All kinds – store-bought, homemade – you name it. I ordered a falafel bowl with hummus, grilled veggies, brown rice, cabbages and olives. I wasn't aware that there was a choice of pita on the side. I also didn't really read the menu because I was starving all day and was just too excited to eat. The falafels were delicious and not as dense as the last time I came here, when I ordered it on a pita. The bowl is huge and I'm not complaining. If I weren't so hungry at that time, I would've saved it for the next day. It was very filling and I left the place ultimately satisfied. I'd definitely recommend the falafel. However, I want to go back and try everything else on the menu.

  2. Don't let the line deter you from getting some of the better food around the area. Imagine Chipotle with a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern flair and you'll get a delicious meal for less than $12. Yeah, less than what you paid for that fancy thermos you got at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. It will not last as long as the thermos but at least you can say what you purchased here is far more tasty!

  3. So ~like~ The Hummus & Pita Co is as good as it gets, app and all!

My friend and I dropped by for lunch on our way to Trader Joe's, and it hit the spot! The falafel, well-seasoned and hot, didn't disappoint, and the hummus and topping selections only added to its appeal. As toppings I selected the tabouli and the raw onions, cucumber, and hot sauce, as well as the garlic dill dressing. And the bread was among the best I have had.

The layout of the restaurant, open and bright, made the experience all the more enjoyable. I wish there were The Hummus & Pita Co near my workplace!

  4. I think I found another great lunch spot after ordering from here today!

The line was almost out the door when I walked in around 1:00 PM on a Monday but thankfully it moved really quick.  I was totally confused with how to order but the employee I encountered was more than helpful!  Here are the instructions:

    1. You pick a Start It – either Falafel, Vegetarian, Gyro, Shawarma, Chicken or Steak
    2. Pick a Make It – in the form of a Pita, Laffa, Bowl or Platter
    3. Pick your Fill Its – ranges from grilled veggies to cous cous to eggplants and different types of salads
    4. Choose your toppings – lettuce, tomato, hot peppers, pickles, red onion, olives, feta, red cabbage and cucumber
    5. Pick your sauce – comes in either Tahini, Tzatziki, Toum, Amber or Harissa
    6. Pick your complimentary pita bread!

I ended up getting the Falafel in a bowl.  The bowl was $1.50 on top of the base price of $5.95 but it comes with TWO fill its.  I chose the cous cous and eggplant as fill its.  My toppings were standard tomato and cucumbers.  I wasn't sure what sauce to get so the cashier suggest Tahini.  My total came out to be a bit under $9.00!  I was pretty surprised how inexpensive it was.

The food itself was better than I expected!!!  The cous cous was soooo soft and buttery.  The eggplant had a kick to it's flavor.  The falafel went so well with the hummus as well.  Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for lunch if you're on a slight budget.  I will be returning to try their Shawarma (I heard it's really good)!

  5. Just here for the free baklava. Haha, kidding.

Lately, I've been on a Mediterranean kick and Hummus and Pita Co. has been my go-to for a relatively cheap, quick meal. Touted as the Chipotle of Mediterranean food, Hummus and Pita Co has the big steel front table and a fairly overwhelming menu. The space is actually pretty huge here, though I've never actually stopped to eat at one of the many bar tables.

My usual go-to is the shwarma plate or bowl, with Israeli cous-cous and Israeli salad, and I tell them to heap the hummus on a little bit more. Their hummus tends to be heavier on the tahini than on the chickpea side, which I really like. After that, you can ask for any toppings you'd like, with a choice of a sauce, my go-to being chimichurri or the tzatziki. It can be overwhelming with so many choices, as I mentioned, but the staff is usually pretty patient, even during the busy lunch hour.

The people behind the counter are always pretty friendly and good with acquiescing to my small requests like extra veggies or just a bit more baba ganoush, and the prices, while a bit more expensive than most fast Mediterranean joints, are still reasonable. Yes, you will pay a little more than a food cart, but I feel like you also get a little bit more as well, so the value is actually there.

I still think Taim has slightly better quality, but given the proximity of H&P Co. to my apartment, I'm more inclined to pick something up from the latter after a long day's work. These days, I usually just pick up a small or medium hummus and just go to town with some whole wheat pita.

  6. This is for those who enjoy fast casual restaunts and mediterranean food. This place does it very well, with fresh and tasty food, and a very affordable price point. Really enjoyed the falafel and all the different fixings you can get with it. Will definitely come back, especially with a casual group.

  7. Craving some Falafel and hummus? Look no further !!!  I ordered a Falafel bowl the other day from this place and was plesantly surprised.  HUGE portions, they gave at least 5-6 Falafels with GINORMOUS scoops of hummus (Comes with every order) plus TWO sides and a warm pita!  I chose the quinoa greek salad and the eggplant salad.  SUPER delicious and only $8 dollars EIGHT DOLLARS for all of this food.  It was glorious.  The hummus was super tasty, perfect with the falafel which you can add any sauce to this (I chose the yogurt dill yummm)  and also perfectly warm pita to complete the dish.  I highly recommend this place as a lunch spot of even hearty dinner, you can order a sandwich, bowl, or plate depending on how hungry you are.  I will be back to try the schwarma ASAP !!!

  8. I stopped by to get a quick lunch one day and it was ok. I ordered a gyro platter and it was a lot of food once I got to add on all the vegetables and sides. The gyro meat, however, tasted really salty to me. Luckily, they also give bread, so it helps. Nevertheless, service was fast. The line might be close to the door but it moves quickly. I think I was in there for no more than 10 minutes including the time to check out. In summary: lots of food for a good price and fast.
