  1. Friendly tiny shop with delicious brew.

I always use a "plain coffee" as measure of the quality of a place.

Smooth coffee with a gentle caffeine build, no sweaty manic rush.

Great artwork for sale, pastry and that trendy new coffee on tap.

  2. My Sunday morning dose after workout and this time I picked Jolly Goat. It is indeed only a small coffee bar as the seating was extremely limited; however I felt a strong sense of home at this place.

As usual, got Americano with skim milk. However Jolly Goat has much more to offer – freshly prepared bagels, muffins, and even their signature ice cream sandwich and/or marble ice cream! Cashier happily handed me the punch card – I'm sure I will be back for their sweets and more!

  3. Love this little hidden gem in Hell's Kitchen. The coffee is excellent and they have the widest range of options for milk including macadamia milk which is delicious. The cold brew is a little on the pricey side but the staff is always friendly and the service is really quick and efficient even during busy mornings.

  4. A coffee shop that serves Stumptown?! Yes please!

There are 2 bar seats that face the window. Other than that there's a bench for (probably no more than) 2 – but you won't want to sit there since it's close to the line where everyone places their order.

They have your basic loose leaf tea, pastries and coffee of course. I got a latte with almond milk – the 50 cent up-charge for the milk – but it was worth it! So delicious!

Other than that I didn't see any other eat options – no lox as other reviews mentioned, but I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area!

  5. I got an iced tea and ice cream sandwich (classic) based on barista's rec. appreciate the friendly laid-back service. Now if only I was a coffee-drinker…

  6. I stopped in here for a coffee on the way back from one client and found this place by accident. They only had one size late, but it was a good one. The place is a whole in the wall size but their coffee was delicious. The service was quick and friendly, getting me in and out in minutes. I love places like this!

  7. I'm generally not one to pay an extra 50 cents for milk alternatives, but I figured there must be a reason people rave about the almond milk here. They are SO right.

I got an almond milk latte ($4.50 + 0.50 for almond milk) and couldn't get over how different it tasted from any other I've had. There's just something about it…it's creamy and distinctly flavored and just transforms the latte into an entirely new drink. My friend got almond milk in her cortado and found it similarly tasty, though the flavor is maximized in the latte. Rather than  a regular latte with a tiny hint of almond, it tastes more like an expertly made drink of velvety, steamy almond milk with just enough coffee taste to satisfy.

The place itself is tiny and has 3 bar seats by the window (along with wifi), but I wouldn't plan on doing work here due to the size constraints.

Normally I can go on and on about a place, but I really think that's all you need to know about Jolly Goat. Get the almond milk latte and you're set!

  8. I stopped by here during the late winter months, and it was quite the treat. I ordered a hot chocolate, which was thick and luxurious, almost like I was drinking straight-up melted chocolate. That's how bold the choco flavor was, and I enjoyed that.

Though the café space is small, I didn't mind it because there weren't many customers inside when my mentor-friend and I decided to chat here. We sat on the red bench on the side of the café to talk, and during our conversation we mentioned how friendly the staff worker (who rang up our order) was.

He was wearing a black cap with large white glasses that day, and he was so kind in refilling our water glasses that we got on the house to re-hydrate.
