  1. The Kosher Nosh is exactly what we had anticipated.  The food was good but not over to top amazing and the price is a little expensive.  Growing up in Monmouth County NJ we had a handful of Kosher places just like the Kosher Nosh and we expected the price to be high but not as bad as this.  I would call the food average for Kosher and defiantly not priced properly.

We tried Kosher Nosh five times already in the last six months and I would say we are going to look else where.  If the food was worth the price I would continue to go but its really not that great.

I can see why the senior citizens enjoying this place. You do get a lot of food and the place really feels like a NY style deli but again the prices are ridiculous.

The wait staff is excellent and very courteous and the pickle bar is decent.

  2. I rarely have a bad experience at kosher deli's but I found this one to be above the rest

First off, they have an all you can eat pickle bar that also includes coleslaw, and mashed potatoes. We were there for dinner and had missed lunch so we went to town! It wasn't the best coleslaw but it's good enough plus unlimited

For appetizer we had the matzah ball soup which I thought was decent. It's hard to make a bad matzah ball soup. This wasn't one of the more memorable ones I've had.

For dinner, I decided on the half brisket half pastrami sandwhich. It's a winner! Probably the best deli sandwhich I've ever had. Huge portion of lean pastrami and brisket with Russian dressing and coleslaw on delicious bread

My girlfriend and her family members got stuffed cabbage and corned beef and everyone was happy with what they ordered

Overall great experience! Only negative was that the wait staff wasn't  the nicest but it was near closing time on a Sunday so I think they were just exhausted

  3. I have been eating in the Kosher Nosh for years. Over 35 of them. The food is consistantly good, the service attentive, atmosphere eh and the prices ridiculous. A quart of chicken soup with a few matza balls is $15. Some of their combination sandwiches are well into the $20s. My father ordered a $13 turkey burger on a plate. On a positive note, the pickle bar is awesome and free. The funny thing is that if you order a hot dog and don't take it to go, the price is much higher because of your ability to load up on free cold slaw and pickles. Anyway, I enjoy the Kosher Nosh and have for years but if they were not in my neighborhood, I doubt I would go out of my way to eat there.

  4. Stick with thing's from the sandwich menu, rib is very fatty..and i mean VERYYYY fatty. Don't get the turkey. Get any other meat. 4-5 stars, auto.

  5. Best pastrami!! hands down!

This restaurant/ deli has been around for years, feeding North Jersey's finest. Not too much has changed, its literally, eat and go, theres not too much of a reason to linger around since the ambiance isn't anything crazy.

Love the pickle bar here. A good kosher dill to accompany my pastrami is pure bliss.

The sandwich is huuugee, you can easily split it between 2 people, or what i like to do is save my other half for later. Add a little mustard and your all set! The pastrami melts in your mouth, each bite getting better then the first.

The servers are great. 2 older women who have been working there for years, you just cant help but smile at them.

The prices are of a kosher deli, which means your dropping at least 20 bucks for a sand and soda, But so worth it!

  6. Great quality food, extremely expensive.  If you're picking up on the deli side, you're likely to have good, sometimes great, service.  If you're eating in the restaurant part, expect rude service with waitresses who are so skilled at avoiding eye contact, they almost deserve props for it.  Kosher at all times, and the atmosphere is nothing too exciting.  Some things they make are wonderful though (belly lox and soups among them).  If someone's craving old-school Jewish deli, they'd likely be happy here.

  7. My favorite Bergen county joint closed (Nosher Rye) and I was looking for a good alternative.

    Found this place.

Menu was ok – pickle bar with health salad, cole  slaw, potato salad – help yourself – it's all "free"

I ordered the corned beef – lean and 1 potato knish.

While waiting I picked up a few things at this pickle bar.  2 pickles and a heap of slaw.  Pickles  were good.   Slaw – eh not so much.  A whole lotto mayo and relish mixed with it – not my style.

Corned beef sandwich was eh.  Lean as I asked but not very flavorful.  Knish was like stiff potato looking glue in a baked shell.  Again not much flavor.

Can't say this place is a good replacement for Nosher Rye.  Looks like Hobbys in Newark will be in my future.

  8. Not the best Kosher deli I have been too, but better than a handful of them. I enjoyed their pastrami, but it was a little dry, the Russian dressing was great thought so it helped with the dry meat. The matzah ball soup was excellent, but overall the prices were a little steep.
