The Landing is the only true sit down restaurant currently in the Food Hall at Industry City. It is a lovely open space with long communal tables, a few two- and four-tops, and a big lounge sort of area with sofas, chairs, coffee tables and also some pool tables. The menu is limited, which I personally like, with small plates, a few soups and salads, a couple of pastas and three sandwiches (at least at lunch time). It is Italian influenced. I had a meatball panino that was really tasty with nice moist meatballs and just the right amount of sauce and mozzarella. However it wasn't really pressed down so it was a bit hard to eat without the meatballs falling out (I cut them in half and stuffed them back in) and the cheese wasn't melty enough at first (it melted more as it sat). My friend had a buttermilk fried chicken parm and she loved it. We shared an order of roasted cauliflower that had the perfect amount of salt and garlicky bread crumbs. Most of the dishes were $7-$13. They also offer wine and cocktails. We did not try dessert – too stuffed – but we had coffee and it was excellent. Our waitress could not have been nicer. She told us that the restaurant was opened by the folks from the Bell House and that there will be entertainment in the lounge area in the evenings in the future. This place definitely warrants additional visits.
