The Madhatter Pub & Eatery
“Happy hour also ends at 7pm but what makes this bar special is the existence of an outside patio.”
“You can't beat the beer garden in the summer — great casual atmosphere for drinks and dining.”
“The only con about the visit was that we initially tried to sit in the outdoor space in the back, but we did NOT get anyone to come and take our order.”

Pretty cool little pub. Came here for a little bit of day drinking.
I am from the West Coast, so I loved checking out pubs because they are more hard to find in my neck of the woods. All wood everything. Cool looking beer tap pulls. Fun and nice bartenders. Sports on the tv. This place had all of the things to love about a pub.
I also saw a sign for a decent looking lobster dinner deal. Wish I could have checked that out.
Sure, why not stop by here and sit outside or in the patio garden for a drink? Pretty standard bar food and drinks, standard service. Nothing memorable about this place but nothing bad either. It sounds like the food is surprisingly good so maybe we'll try that next time.
Tip: Bring cash, as you have to have at least a $20 tab to use a credit card.
Stopped by here after playing some pinball next door, really convenient.
Unfortunately, it took about five minutes after we walked in to be greeted by the bartender. She wasn't busy, just talking to some people at the bar. The bar wasn't full either. There was a couple with a dog at one end, and a few people at the other. You should really greet people that have just come in, even if it is just to say you are busy and you'll be with them.
The saving grace was that the bartender was actually pretty nice and had some good recommendations. The Twisted Thistle IPA by Belhaven Brewing is phenomenal. They have a lot of interesting brews on tap.
Plus, it seemed to be decently into sports, with plenty of TVs in there. Probably a good place to catch a game.
Overall, seemed like they had plenty of good brews, just need to work on welcoming people in.
Love this place! Fun pub atmosphere and the owner and servers are so nice. The Cricketer burger was so good.
PROS:
– cheap happy hour drinks
THE OKAY:
– Magnum cider – its decent. I don't think its as good as kopparberg tho
– Rose – ok
– nachos – comes with guac, salsa, and white dips and cheese over it. Great for curbing the hunger and snack with drinks
– Chicken fingers – very pretty decent as well. the honey dijon or mustard sauce was good.
– Mozzarella sticks were standard.
CONS:
– I didn't like fried mac and cheese triangle pieces but the sauce was good though.
Having a Party??? Ask for Johnny!
We found this lil gem on Yelp while searching "bars with outdoor area". After a quick visit, it was decided my office would have its annual summer party in their backyard.
Sent an email with budget, head count and exactly what we needed, and you know what we got? Exactly what we asked for!
Michael helped with the contract and kept us WELL in our budget. We were able to have a real BBQ in the middle of Manhattan.
Unfortunately we had some bad weather, but Mad Hatter was prepared with multiple large umbrellas and let us stay outside covered… Even though our servers had to serve in the rain. FOOD WAS AWESOME. Platters of apps, burgers, dogs, salads, corn on the cob….
All the servers were great but the main guy Johnny, he hustled all day long. No one went without a drink and they really helped us make the best of a rainy party.
Can't say thank you enough to this place for helping us out on our big day.
This place is your standard British sportsbar/pub, with a lively atmosphere, awesome happy hour deals (they make mean margaritas for Cinco de Mayo), and a cool patio area. Even though you probably wouldn't even know this place existed from the street, the food is shockingly good (and cheap) with some interesting twists on standard British pub fare (you'd be a fool not to try The Cricketer burger). Service can be a bit slow and spotty (this is a pub after all), but exceptionally friendly.
Side note, this spot is the official home of the NYC Manchester City Football Fan Club (for better or worse).
Came here for a couple of beers before our friend's birthday party. There was a great draft selection, and plenty of TVs to watch the game. The bar itself had a great old timey Irish pub feel. I would recommend this place to sports fans who want some wings and a big tv to scream at. I tried the Nachos which were good, but pretty standard bar nachos. My BF had the crab cake sliders, which he enjoyed but I didn't really care for. If your in the area, stop by for a beer!
