  1. Was back at MIST last week and am loving the developments of the entire space.  I'm more on the movie side of things there and the theaters, three of each, have comfortable seating and great sound.  The staff are also very friendly and quite competent, unlike those in bigger theaters throughout the city.  One great touch, though one I seldom employ just because I'm not a butter fiend, are the different buttery toppings available for your popcorn.  I've only ever seen one other theater with this (the Pavilion in Brooklyn), so kudos to MIST for having this. They also have a specially made MIST chocolate candy bar, which is pretty cool.  Best of all is that its obvious that people are enjoying and taking advantage of having a state-of-the-art independent movie theater and performance space in Harlem.  Have to go back soon to eat at their restaurant Harvist.

  2. The staff of MIST is super friendly, but the menu is sparse and quite pricey. $15 burger and $17 oxtail.  I like the idea of the community center/coffee shop/public space in Harlem, but the food needs work and should be simpler, more satisfying, far less salty, and less expensive to draw people in.

  3. I loved this place! A colleague and I met here recently for a meeting and I was very pleased to find they had so many vegan and vegetarian options. I went with the vegan burrito, which was tasty, but I was eyeing the assortment of roasted vegetables they had on display. The service was very friendly and they even let me park my bike inside their patio. Love it!

  4. Mist totally impressed me. It's an all-in-one venue: a bar, a cafe, a restaurant, and a sleek event space. I came for a sponsored event so I'm not sure where the food came from (if it was catered or from the Mist kitchen itself), but it was great. The service was good and the employees were really helpful. The space itself is huge so make sure you walk in through the correct doors otherwise you may end up in the cafe, when you want to be at the bar.

Anyway, this spot is a great example depicting how much Harlem is changing…in a GOOD way! It brings a modern, young vibe, to such an old soul area. Love it!

  5. Came here to do a fashion show.  Wish they'd not made so many last minute changes on us but the venue itself is pretty nice.  Definitely a credible place to have your fashion week shows & events attended by national and local media.

  6. This venue is open for events and will soon be transforming into a restaurant named Madiba, they are promoting the change. Sorry for those who wanted to try the cuisine from MIST!

  7. One Word: CLASSY!

I love when I accidentally run into classy establishments that house such a diverse crowd. MIST Harlem is EVERYTHANG! I would like to take some time and talk about the staff. I was blown away by how nice and professional these people were. You normally don't get an ENTIRE staff of friendly people. I sat at the bar for a while and had a delicious glass of Pinot before heading into the Jumpoff Comedy Show. Ok, I totally lied– I had TWO glasses of Pinot. I had no clue there was this huge room equipped with a stage, lights, etc. This place is hella dope. It's been coined "Harlem's Living Room" and I can totally rock with that! The owner and co-owner also introduced themselves during the performance and that definitely gave MIST some brownie points. They made their presence known! In the bar area, there's a pretty nice LCD projected TV on wall that happened to be showing basketball the night I was there. I heard the food was pretty awesome as well. MIST is fairly new– but this place is getting ready to blow the hell up!

The bar only serves beer and wine. There's a church located directly across the street– I respect their decision to honor the church!
