Service is great. Food was okay. I have no complaints about my Salmon Club. The Swordfish sandwich also sounds quite tasty.
Our waiter was awesome. He remembered everyone's dishes and he was very friendly with the kids.
They do offer an "off the menu" kids menu, so if you have kids, you should def ask about it.
This is a cute spot. I really liked my mussels and thought the service was great. No complaints from this super critical girl – I'll definitely consider this as an option if I'm in the area!
What a gorgeous place. When I left the horrible food at the hotel and conference I was at in Westchester and found this place it was heaven. Classy, filled with cool and gorgeous people, top notch food and service. Thanks for not being a mirage!!
I liked this spot. It was very cozy, warm, Northeastern in vibe. I like that. My salad was delicious (loved the cider citrus dressing on arugula) and a generous portion, and the filet on top was nicely cooked.
We had a company holiday lunch here and I have to say, I was pretty disappointed. The place itself is cute, it has this 1776 George Washington prehistoric feel, and I like the fireplaces and sailboat pictures that align the walls. There's two floors total and the place itself can hold a large number of people (I would say at least 300). The bar area downstairs is cute,, kinda feels like you're at a train station and I would consider having a drink at the bar, especially if I was taking the train, but I'm a foodie and the food was not impressive. I started off with their seafood chowder, which she swore was great and that people came in just for this soup. Gross. It was really thick, had pieces of strange looking fish/meat in it, some potatoes and carrots, porridge like consistency and I honestly felt like I had no idea what I was eating. After that I had their sugar glazed scallop salad. The scallops were okay, tasted like they were put on the grill and had a dash of sugar on them, small scallops, I think I got 3 or 4. The bibb lettuce did nothing for this salad, the avocado was good, and there was some corn in it. It was bland and the salad dressing did nothing for the salad.
My coworker got a brownie sundae which too far to long to come out and it tasted bland and like boxed brownies with way too much fake whipped cream on top.
Service wasn't good at all either. I understand we were a rather large table, but she disappeared at the end of our meal, and really didn't seem to care at all about us.
I really dislike diners and I think I would have rather gone to a diner over this place. The food was about as good as diner food at best. Very bland and generic. Disappointed.
I've come here for lunch during the week a few times. This place gets packed. Skip the meters and drive up to the front of the restaurant; there's a free valet. Lunch menu has something to appeal to everyone. I ordered the sugar cane glazed scallop salad. Generous portions, couldn't finish it. Scallops were fresh and miso dressing was delicious. Also ordered the Scottish salmon with champagne vinaigrette with a caesar salad. Wasn't the best tasting salmon thought it was a bit dry, potatoes and vegetables were wilted and overdone.
Desserts are delicious. The chocolate molten cake and the apple crisp are really tasty served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Too big and rich to finish.
Staff is always nice and accommodating. Restaurant itself is huge and has a clean classic feel.
OK I come here a lot with coworkers so I figured it was time to update my review.
I like that they have some local brews on tap like offerings from Captain Lawrence and Brooklyn Brewery.
Bartenders remember you and are always up for some gossip small talk.
Food- still think it is a little expensive for sit down lunch or dinner but apps at the bar have always been delicious – the calamari stands out as a crowd favorite.
Came here for my cousins baby shower. First time here. Really nice place – delicious food. Had the Goat Cheese Walnut Salad (minus goat cheese) and the Garlic Grilled Rib Eye with Frizzled Onions and Fries. I realized once my meal came the waitress never asked how I wanted it cooked (I'm a med-rare steak person). Once I cut into it I realized it was more on the medium side. The steak was delicious though so I was happy. The staff was really nice and punctual. Kyle is awesome btw!
Bonus – they have an elevator that brings you from the main level to the upstairs party room. That came in handy for those with big/heavy gifts and us 2 pregnant Momma's to be that needed to use the potty and didn't want to wait for the 1 stall bathroom up in our party area….
I would definitely come back for lunch/dinner if I'm in the area again.
