I came expecting this to be a bbq joint but its a smoke house. Shame on me.
Lets begin with the drunks…. Way too bitter. Had a beer instead and it was fine.
Ordered the burnt ends as an app, and just as previous reviews mentioned, they were too salty.
The baby back ribs were dry and nothin special. To me if I lift a baby back rib by the bone, the meats supposed to fall off, not in this case (smoked not bbq). The pulled pork was just as salty as the burnt ends.
After 3 disappointments, I didn't even bother getting desert.
The cole slaw was actually good and it was the highlight of the meal.
I also hoped there were a few choices of bbq sauce, and not a small dipping bowl to have with my meal.
Highly doubt I will return.
I have to say I was a little disappointed. I order half a BBQ chicken. The sauce was great but the chicken was not cooked enough. There was pink near the bone. The cornbread was good. I had a side of cream spinach which was tasty but a little soupy. I would of preferred it to be thicker.
I don't know why the reviews are all over the place. Our office placed an order for the XL family meal and we got a full rack of ribs, 1lb pulled pork, a whole chicken, cornbread and 5 sides. Mac & cheese, fries, sweet potatoes, corn & loaded mac & cheese.
Everything was beyond excellent, the chicken blew my mind, flavorful, tasty, juicy & moist. The pulled pork knocked my socks off, wow! The ribs were good too the meat fell off the bone and on a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 7. I've had better but they were really good.
All of the sides were excellent, mouthwatering and delicious.
We opted for delivery and they said when we called at 1130am that it would arrive around 1230pm and that's exactly when it came.
A work buddy told me about this place and said it was very good. Another friend called one Sunday night and wanted to go to eat-here vs. a place we like but had been to multiple times. We decided to go to Smokin' Rib. We were seated at a high top table and very shortly, there were no tables available at all. It is a corner spot with a bar in one corner. Our waiter was very pleasant and after looking at the menu, we got drinks and ordered. I got the pulled chicken sandwich which was very good and just enough to eat without being overly full and my friend got the brisket platter which came with sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top, the brisket and a large piece of cornbread. My friend ate half of her meal and I told her not to force herself-she could take the rest for lunch the following day, which she did. I would recommend and return, especially if you like barbeque.
My coworker insisted we go here, so I read Yelp reviews about it. I agree with the overly salty taste of the pulled pork and brisket, but the brisket was super fall apart tender and not bad despite the salt. Yummy edges, especially.
The Gouda mac and cheese was pretty delightful and I enjoyed the cornbread. The atmosphere is pretty comfortable and service is quick. Pretty reasonable prices for New York.
Update: Came back and had the brisket sandwich and the wings… (My wife had the same thing.)
Wings were were big juicy and BIG — three whole wings… Not over smoked so they had a nice texture and flavor and with a spicy BBQ sauce. They are not buffalo style, so if you want a smoked chicken wing — that's what you are getting but if you want a "wings" -appetizer, go somewhere else.
The brisket sandwich was epic though! Huge mountain of thick cut beef on a buttery toasted bun. I am a huge brisket guy and this was some of the best I've ever had… I upped my review 5 stars on the corn chowder and brisket alone!

My wife and I checked this place out the other night and let me start out by saying that we will definitely be back; mostly because she loved it!
My wife is pregnant and her one craving has been lemonade. Over the past 5 months she has sampled lemonade from all over Long Island and NYC and while she only shared a sip, I agree that this was some of the best lemonade I've ever had.
She ordered the corn chowder and the pulled chicken salad and loved them both! The corn chowder had huge pieces crab and looked really home style, not too creamy. Her salad had some nice touches too, tons of smokey shredded pulled chicken and a warm vinaigrette dressing.
I had the half baby back ribs with beans and cornbread. I enjoyed it… I don't eat bbq a lot, and perhaps I'm not the biggest fan of it. The meat seemed a little dry, and over smoked– intense; but maybe that's what authentic bbq is like? The beans and cornbread were solid, but I have had better.
I guess I'm comparing this experience to a recent bbq place I dined at (the name escapes me) up at Hunter Mountain and I think the food was better there.
In any event, I'll definitely give this place another go for sure. I have nothing bad to say about it and my wife loved it. We will return to cheers a pint of lemonade and some of the Barrier they have on tap.
This place has great ambiance: large windows on 2 sides so that you can people watch and terrific blues playing in the background. The bar looked happening. Staff were great, wine was good. Plenty of napkins are available. My St Louis Ribs 1/2 rack was plenty, but dry. They'd excel if they had some sauce on the side as needed. Cornbread was good (room temp), collard greens ok with vinegar and cured turkey, Guida Mac N Cheese was the tastiest dish. I was going to try the brisket. My lady's regular ribs were dry but she liked her Blue Moon.
So for the best experience, go to the bar, order a drink and mac n cheese, and listen to some terrific blues.
I hate to leave bad reviews, but I must be honest.
— My ribs were awful. Just awful.
— Sides were luke warm.
— Fried pickles, the friend batter just came right off, so we got a whole unfried spear to eat, not enjoyable.
— The service wasn't very good I'm sad to report. There was a time we felt forgotten about and there weren't many people in the restaurant.
I so very much wanted to love it here, but it just wasn't very good.
