I had high hopes for this place after finding so many positive reviews on Yelp, however I ended up leaving after only one beer, disappointed.
After sitting down and looking at the beer list, it took a solid 5 minutes for the only person working on a Saturday night to acknowledge me. I had ordered the River Horse seasonal that was listed, but was told by the bartender that they don't have that beer. I showed it to her on the menu but she seemed clueless about what it was. Asking what was put on in its place, she told me "flying fish". I proceeded to ask which one (they're a New Jersey craft brewery that makes about a dozen beers) but she again seemed clueless to the concept that a brewery could make more than one beer. Thankfully another customer told me it was the Red Fish, so I ordered that.
When the beer came, I was ready to place an order for food, but the barkeep told me I had to wait a few minutes. Very strange. After 5 minutes of trying to make eye contact I decided the one beer would be all is have. It took equally as long to get her attention to get my check, at which point she had forgotten which beer i had ordered.
This place is on top of a fast food restaurant – you have to watch yourself for cars speeding through the drive thru window when entering or exiting. Not sure if they have their own kitchen or if the food they served is prepped at the burger joint downstairs- I didn't see a single other party that had ordered food.
Not sure I have a reason to come back here. Aside from the Yelp check in special, it doesn't seem the business had too much to offer me.
Confession: I really feel this place is between a 2 and 3. Say 2.5. I've gone back and forth with the rating but will round up to a 3, however I don't really feel it's completely worthy of a 3 star rating. KnowwhatImean? If so, read on.
The Station is a bar situated in a loft above the burger joint downstairs. They have a wide variety of Sunday football specials on apps and food which we enjoyed. The cheese bites were great, tater tot size deep fried cheese nuggets. We both had burgers but aren't sure whether they come from the downstairs fast food burger place. Husband thinks yes, I'm not sure. Either way, mine was ok but the husband enjoyed his.
We both had a 30 ounce Coors light special and maybe would have had another if the service was better. The service wasn't consistent by the waiter and the bartender hardly gave us a glance when we were looking around to locate our server. Our server disappeared for quite some time toward the end. This wasn't a place to hang out for long, but an OK place to grab a bite, watch a game, and go somewhere else.
