  1. So many reasons why I love the West.  The people there are amazing and friendly.  The space is so good and calming to chill out and/or work out of – and… they accept CUPS app.  How brilliant are you, The West!! The other day I just took a punch out loyalty card too… looking forward for more times at this place with tasty coffee and treats! When I am working out of my laptop here, I don't have to put on earbuds because the playlist is on point to my favor!!! One of my new favorite places!!

  2. Came here to pick up a quick bite. I thought it was simply A-ok. I ordered the Avocado Toast. To be honest I think it's pretty ridiculous to charge $7 for avocado spread, goat cheese, cucumbers, olive oil, and red pepper flakes on top of one slice of bread.

In terms of atmosphere, it's kind of a cool vibe. You can have coffee and beer at the same place! It's a bit too dimly lit for my liking though. I'd imagine it would be hard to study here but plenty of people were doing it.

I haven't tried their coffee, will review once I have.

  3. The iced coffee is pretty decent, not watered down like in some places. Cold brews are expensive but solid. I've also tried their blueberry iced tea which is delicious and refreshing, highly recommended if you're not in the mood for coffee or beer. On a nice day I like to come here and pop into the backyard. You can opt to sit in the sun or out of it as there are shaded areas as well. Free wifi and they don't ban laptops on the weekends which makes it the perfect spot for work (if you must). Also serves small bites which I've yet to try. The interior is a rustic design with primarily wooden decor, atmosphere is laid-back as they serve coffee and beer interchangeably (and did I mention laptoppers won't get shooed away on weekends?). I'm lucky to have a spot like The West in my hood because I'll keep coming back.

  4. I've been coming here for years.  There are times when I love it, and times when I am over it, but it is a solid coffee shop/bar.  The iced coffee may be the best in the city.  It is expensive, but you get what you pay for.  Nitro and regular cold brew.  Sometimes, I actually like the regular more…it is very rich, and exemplifies full bodied cold brew.

Espresso drinks are usually very solid.  Not the best, and not always consistent, but fairly reliable, particularly when milk is involved.  Ultimately, it isn't a barista driven shop, so it can be hit and miss.

They have a great beer selection, and cocktails and wine.  Happy hours specials too.  Great outdoor area.  Music is usually solid.  Wifi is reliable and good. Lots of people hang out here all day, but there is usually always room.

  5. How cute! I loved coming here, with my computer, getting some work done, and enjoying my coffee and snack while at it.

I love the homey feeling of this place, and will definitely be coming back in the future!

  6. I'm not in williamsburg that often, but I was invited to a webseries screening in this cafe. They had an interesting lineup of cocktails on the menu, but I had already pregamed at another bar before I arrived. I opted for a chai latte and was pleasantly surprised to see that they will booze your coffee. I told the bartender I wanted my latte to be creamy and a little sweet, so he added some whisky and baileys. Best decision eve, it was amazing. Kudos to the bartender, I will be back!

  7. I love liquor and he (my bf) loves cold brew so what luck that we find both in one establishment. The nitro cold brew is pretty damn good and the $5 shot/beer combo quenches my pro-drinking thirst. Bring your friends, bring your dates, bring your alcoholic coffee lovin companions. Open mic on Mondays if you're into that

  8. A coffee shop that serves alcohol too, and food. Reminded me of a genuine French cafe, without the French people or food. I spent several hours here on a rainy day. I had no alcohol, a few cups of coffee and did some work. It was comfortable and friendly. I'm a person who doesn't like to work in public places – can't sit in a Starbucks for more than ten minutes without wanting to leave. So the fact that I felt comfortable here – bonus. Not the best coffee but decent and prices were on par.
