  1. Came here on a Saturday for a Friend's Birthday. I was a little skeptical of this place of the mixed reviews. So it was crucial to arrive before 10pm. Upon arriving everything was good no line, all of my party got in. This bar has 2 floors and there are a bunch of old school games to play on the downstairs floor. We headed downstairs…packed bar. Once we made it to our friend my friend and I processed to squeeze ourselves by the bar. Too packed.
Once at the bar this great bartender was quick to attend to us. We ordered the Buffalo Wings and an order of nachos along with Whiskey Lemonades and some GREAT tasting Virgin concoction the bartender whipped up for my friend. We got our drinks on the fly! And we even received our food before some other patrons that were waiting for over 1hr. WOW can you say GREAT BARTENDER! The wings were great! The sauce is baked into the chicken wings so no mess with sauce all over the place. The nachos had rice in it….very weird. The chips were good and so was the chicken added in. Didn't like the rice in it.
The rest of the night/morning we kept ordering from the same bartender the Virgin Concoction(only he know how to make)…I think it was Iced tea/lemonade with some kind of fruit juices all except pineapple(friend is allergic). The guys proceeded to order Pickle Back Shots and rounds of Irish Car Bombs….Oh boy! At around 2:50am my friend and I decided to end the party.

All in all I'd seen the reviews previously posted and I'm very glad we didn't encounter any "Bouncer" problems. The bar itself isn't bad. A little pricey but its a fun atmosphere to drink and hangout in groups. We saw 2 fights and they were girls! In the bar and outside by the front. We wouldn't mind going back.

  2. This place reminds me so much of my college bar. Lots of young people with a large selection of games as well. I guess if you want to just grab a drink and talk to people this place is good. Don't recommend for dancing… Also, for such a young crowd, the music seemed purely bad 80s pop tracks..

  3. What a great bar! My first thought when walking into this place was "why haven't I been here before?!" they play good music, have strong drinks, and also have games downstairs (just don't get too excited for the beer pong game and accidentally put your dollar into the skee ball machine right next to it like I did). I wasn't hungry when I went in but they have a great food selection that I hear is great so i'll be sure to come hungry next time.

  4. I can see how this place is a good time.

I came here to meet up with a date on a Friday night. Now, unfortunately, I would not consider this place the best spot to meet up with someone you're getting to know. We came here around 8pm and the basement was PACKED. I mean, everyone was packed like sardines. So, we decided to move to the upstairs where it was a lot less crowded and actually places to sit down.

As 10pm/11pm came around, the upstairs was a mad house. Since we were sitting at the bar, I started getting fairly annoyed by the big guys yelling over my shoulder their order. I knew we kind of set ourselves up for having a conversation at the bar, but I just had no idea how loud it would be.

Next time when I come here, I'll probably bring friends instead of a date. My experience could have been so much different if it wasn't a date meet up situation. It was just way to loud and crowded, especially that early on a Friday. Just as a heads up.

  5. I've been to The Whiskey Brooklyn several times and I've had fun every time. During the week, the booths are set up to sit, drink, and eat. There's no wait service, so food orders have to be placed at the bar. I was expecting subpar bar food but have to say that I was surprised at how decent the dishes were. I ordered a taco salad and split french fries with the table. During the weekend, the place gets crowded. The crowd is big, and the DJ has an awesome mix of throwback hits. Arcade games are in the back room and fun to play while hanging around.

  6. So the original plan did not include going to Whiskey Brooklyn/Annex*.  But 4 rounds and 2 shots later I'm soooo glad we ended up here.  We've been back a few times now – so that's not just the alcohol talking.

The staff at Whiskey Annex is kindof awesome and we had so much fun with them.  Shoutout to Heather – who has quickly become my favorite bartender.  She makes a mean Brooklyn Tea ($10).  Raspberry Vodka + lemon + iced tea – think of it like a twisted Arnold Palmer and make sure you order it.

Also order the tots!  They are legit.  And the processed nacho cheese that you can order for $1 extra is so worth it.  That may have been the alcohol talking but those crispy golden tots and that cheese were perfect.

    * Whiskey Brooklyn = downstairs, Whiskey Annex = upstairs.

  7. Chill spot downstairs, bartenders seem to think they can remember orders, and not write them down and will completely screw your order up but food is good. I ordered burger and tots, ended up with fries. My GF ordered veggie burger with cheese, no cheese came with hers. They fixed both orders. Burger overall was cooked pretty well, medium, like I like it. Drinks are ok, I would come back for sports, or a relaxed night by myself but definitely not when trying to have dinner or a convo with my gf. Just too busy. Keep it simple and come here for drinks. One thumb up over here.

  8. Wow if you want to be at a bar where every guy dresses the same, you should come here. It's quite fascinating. Everyone has a beard, wears a plaid shirt and jeans. The drinks are weak and too large to be carrying around. The arcade part of the bar is tiny, although it was a lot of fun to play the basketball one. The music is ok.
