  1. this is a small diner tucked away between 9th and 10th Avenue near Port Authority on 42nd Street. The space is a substantial size and the staff is very helpful. They serve diner food-breakfast, lunch, brunch on the weekends and dinner. They have a full menu.

I eat there frequently and am never disappointed but I have never had anything but breakfast. I recommend and will return.

  2. Service was good but quality of the food was average.  They get points for having a good variety of menu options, but the execution of our meals wasn't the greatest.  They completely forgot to put the dressing and the cheese in my wrap so it was somewhat dry and flavorless.  The "stuffed" french toast was pretty decent, definitely a good concept. My friend felt it was a bit dry, but I smothered my share in syrup so didn't notice.  Pricing was pretty good considering the area, so I would probably give this place another shot if I was looking for a quick bite.

  3. This is one of my favorite spots in NYC! It's great priced, and the food is very tasty. The staff is super friendly and helpful, I definitely recommend it!

  4. I was staying in the area & after checking out we went looking for a place to have breakfast came across this diner.
Came in we were seated right away , once seated we got some OJ & Iced coffee to start , both good OJ glass way too small.
I got the breakfast special two eggs , scramble with sausage , home fries & whole wheat toast.
Good eggs & home fries , delicious sausage & the toast was not bad.
My company had the pancakes with bacon , very good pancakes nice & fluffy , good bacon.
As for the restaurant nice small place , nice & simple decor nothing too crazy since it's a small place.
Service was good everything came out nice & quick but not feeling like it was rushed & our waiter was nice & attentive, prices are reasonable for what we had.
For breakfast this place wasn't bad we enjoyed our meal.

  5. I went here with two friends for breakfast. The place looked very clean and it was not crowded – probably because of its out of the way location between 9th and 10th Avenue. The prices were very fair as well. They have a whole page of breakfast special platters (meat and eggs with toast and juice and coffee) and almost all of them are under $10. Food was not bad and was of generous portions.

However, my friends are a married couple and they were not too hungry and wanted to just share one platter. The waitress said that they would have to order something else (which turned out to be a $5 bagel), or they will have to charge us a $3 sharing fee. We had never heard of such a thing.

This place I would say is really 3.5 stars to me.

  6. Both my friend and I were unimpressed by this place. The initial impression was positive. We stepped in around 11:30am on a Sunday so the place was packed. So we were hoping for some good ol' brunch.

We ordered from the prefix brunch menu. There were about 14 dishes to choose from and each came with a drink (Bloody Mary, mimosa, screwdriver or a fruit drink) for about $15 (rounding up). He got the Bacon and asparagus omelette and I got the Denver omelette.

Side note: they don't serve alcoholic drinks until noon. Say wha? I thought this was a brunch menu…so we waited until noon for our mimosas to arrive. No problem.

Both omelettes, just by the looks of them were under whelming. No fluff to them, just flat. The home fries were more like sautéed potatoes. None the less we ate our dishes.

Service: The lady was prompt with seating us and getting our orders but never were we asked if our food was good or anything. Basically served us…brought out mimosas…gave us our check (which she split for us, so thumbs up to that). No words of thanks for coming or anything. But it was busy so I wasn't too bothered by it. I only noticed these things because my friend pointed it out.

Maybe other dishes on the menu are better, I'm not sure. But I most likely won't find out because I don't think I'll be stopping by for awhile.

  7. Honestly, this diner is nothing special. Not terrible either, but it just so happens to be in a good location if you're going to a show and hungry on the way there or back!

My boyfriend and I only stop in for a few sweet treats before heading to That Bachelorette Show.

Chocolate layer cake – chocolate frosting, light chocolate whipped cream/mousse on the inside and vanilla cake.

Chocolate milk – made the old-fashioned way with Whole Milk and Hershey's syrup. I watched the waiter put it together and was pleasantly surprised it wasn't ready-made chocolate milk.

  8. It was late, we were hungry and the Theater Row Diner was open.

First thing, the menu is pages and pages long and serves a little bit or everything. In cases like that I find the safest bet is the breakfast section which they serve 24 hours a day. I ordered a cheese and mushroom omelette.

The omelette arrived quickly but was really brown on the outside. The potatoes and the bagel ($.75 upgrade to toast) weren't bad. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. Overall, not a bad chance encounter but it would never be my destination.
