Man on man, for their square (Sicilian) slices alone – 5 stars.
All their other pizzas 4-5 stars.
I still have to go with a 4 star rating because they haven't figured out how to eliminate the chaos between the pizza counter and the cashier. Yes, they have an occasional grouchy employee as well. All in all, delicious pizza. The square with sauce and grated cheese (no mozz) is amazingggggggggg.
Teresa's delivers a solid slice of pizza with speedy precision. Its more of a take out joint, and it can get really crowded. The staff are good at keeping up with the rush, and prices are on par for Midtown.
The first time I ordered a rectangular thin mushroom and a Sicilian whole wheat with sun dried tomatoes and onions. The thin was excellent – crisp crust, great size, fresh cheese and great sauce. I wasn't a huge fan of teh canned mushrooms though. I found that the whole wheat dough was too sweet but the portion was fantastic. The second time I got a spinach mushroom slice and a sausage pepper. Both were tasty and held up well between the oven and the trip back to my desk.
The tasty slices and cenvenient location make this a staple in my midtown lunching, but the pizza doesn't give me cravings.
Here we go, my very first one-star review on Yelp. And you know, maybe it's partially my fault, for ignoring the signs. The empty seats, despite peak lunch hour. The strange music, the high prices. Maybe this could have been avoided.
At over $3 a slice, I expected some truly impressive pizza. I don't want to hear anything about "Midtown prices", I can find passable pizza for a dollar and change, even there. But this too, was merely passable. Greasy and oddly gritty, I was not impressed. Don't even start me on the weird, 3-stage process for actually buying the stuff.
Nor was I impressed by the 15 minute seating limit. The place wasn't exactly "hopping" – the signs just came across as tacky. Adding to that, electronic and house music have a firm place in my heart, but not in my lunchtime. It didn't match the ambience at all!
But what really sealed the single star deal was seeing the cook in his gloves on his phone – a germ hive. And then he went back to work, in those same gloves. Come on!
Theresa's isn't the best pizza out there and it's kind of pricey. But it is my go-to for when I get a pizza craving and I don't want to wander too far away from my office. I'll usually get a slice that has chicken on it, which is hit or miss. Sometimes it tastes good but other times, the chicken is really dry like it has been reheated 20 times. Usually, you can't go wrong with the chicken roll (that chicken is fine). Just be sure to ask them to keep it in the oven for a little while longer because there have been a couple of times when I've bitten into it and it was still cold.
There are definitely better options in this area if you're willing to walk a little further. If not, this isn't the worst pizza in the world.
Highly chaotic and confounding waiting/ordering/paying system, but the pizza is fairly decent.
Teresa's is a go to lunch spot for myself and coworkers working in the Rock Center area. Their pizza is great (I like the eggplant) as well as their wraps. They are on the pricier side, as are all cafes in such a touristy area, but when I want something worth the money- I go to Teresa's.
Passport photo shop down the block recommended this place. Eh, not bad coffee…got a large ice hazelnut. The food looked alright, though a bit overpriced. The pizza also looked good…I didn't have any of that though. I wouldn't make a special trip for the place, but if I happened to be in the area I might stop by.
Quick bite and definitely delicious. It is a great place to just stop and grab a slice, a burrito (yup there is a Mexican station) or a salad. OH yes, pastries and coffee too!
We had a slice of the Sicilian right before a graduation at the Radio City Music hall, it definitely wasn't cheap but considering the location I am not surprised.
One slice, one water $5.
If you are on the run, this is a great place to have a bite.
