“I was drawn to it after walking around on a blistery NYC day, and had a wonderful chocolate coconut hot tea (all-vegan) that was delightful.”

“Drink:
~matcha bubble tea, hot (5 stars): not very sweet, and the matcha really comes out in all of its bitter and green tea glory.”

Shoutout to Wynn (sorry not Nguyen) for doing his own thangg. Obviously it's working because their teas are delicious. Ever since my move to NY from California, I had no choice but to settle on sub-par bubble tea, but not here. Thirstea is one of those places where you know they make their drinks with REAL tea, aka not powder, no syrup, no weird ingredients that typical NY bubble tea shops add to their drinks to cut corners. So far I've only tried several of their fruit teas and jasmine milk tea, but I hope to try more in the future! And yes, they're on the pricier side, but honestly I already pay $5 for holiday latte at Starbucks, so I guess I'm saving money hitting up Thirstea for my daily caffeine dose. …now if only it wasn't so far away from me…

This place really specializes in teas… The guy behind the counter was really passionate about explaining all the teas to us.  They also have milk options (almond milk, soy milk).  It is a small space but it is so cute and charming!! They have a punch card too so don't forget to get one! I really enjoyed my bubble tea… the tapioca was perfectly chewy and sweet and I got mine with soy milk so it was not heavy at all! I definitely recommend!!

This place is tiny so not much seating, but that's my only complaint.
If you want really good tea or bubble tea, def check this place out.

Actually… i'm kinda upset that they didn't give us the buy 9 get 1 free card! my friends and i bought 4!!! i hope you read this sir and give me the card when i visit again haha

Anyways, a large selection of teas and as soon as you walk in, it smells amazing. Winn (wynn? how do u spell his name?) was super kind and took his time to explain to us which teas were good for different things. My friends got a hibiscus tea was was very good.
I got the taro coconut bubble tea. I'm not a huge coconut fan but i really enjoyed it because it wasn't too sweet, but it was delicious, creamy, and the coconut wasn't overpowering. I just wish there were some more boba in mine.

The price here is great too for high quality tea.

Great tea selection, super super nice owner who will take the time to make you a drink that you'll like. Great local business.

Adorable tea/bubble tea shop. Really nice selection of wonderfully fragrant teas and helpful knowlegable staff. As far as tea goes I am not fan of all the bells and whistles (bubbles, pudding, jelly..  just not for me). I enjoyed a nice iced black tea with currant and lychee jelly (yes went for the jelly and I liked it.. ). The tea was perfectly brewed with all of the flavors coming through. I requested lighty sweetened and again, it was perfect. Looking forward to my next visit.. have my eye on that blackberry sage coconut tea – no bubbles thank you kindly! ;-).  Also, another good reason to take your business here..  It's not a chain, it's a small locally owned business. Support your local mom and pop shops!

I had a craving for milk tea and this was the closest place I could find. They have traditional Asian milk tea flavors like taro, almond, green tea and black sesame but that's pretty much where the similarities end. I had the Taro with boba and it was very watered down compared to places like kung fu and tkettle where they serve more traditional Asian style milk tea. Its a matter of preference but I will probably make trek to get tkettle next time.

The first time we had a drink here we tried the blueberry lemonade hibiscus and it was amazingly refreshing! The boba was also good – not too hard, but soft. We also tried the thai iced tea and the lychee tea both were very good! The drinks were not super sweet like other tea places make their teas. This place also has tea available for purchase for whenever you want to drink it at home which I thought was pretty cool. The person making the drink that day was very friendly and made a point to conversate with each customer. This place is a good place to go get some refreshing tea on a hot day or cold day. Definitely come on by and get your boba fix here!

Thirsty but not for Thirstea. The tapioca is semi hard compared to the usual bubble tea I've had. It's like it wasn't boiled long enough? The center was kind of hard while the outside was soft. It was a bit annoying to chew on. The taro coconut tasted more like taro than coconut, I tasted maybe 1 shred of coconut in it? It also didn't taste fresh. The drink itself tasted like powdered taro mixed with water.

Maybe I had the wrong drink, I really hope their green tea and non milk based drinks are better..

I found the drinks here to be overpriced compared to other bubble tea places down the block like Kung Fu Tea and CoCo. For the same price, I could've gotten a better quality drink.

Despite the mediocre drink, the staff here was really friendly. Wynn was really nice and friendly to talk to, so I guess an extra star for the service. But drinks wise, 2 stars.
