This place has been here forever. It has changed owners at least 5 or 6 times during my lifetime in Jackson Heights. The owner right now has been the same for at least 5 or more years and the food has stayed pretty consistant since. The grandma slices are pretty standard and that I like because a lot of local pizza places try to make their own spin on a "Grandma slice" which does not taste good at all. Hero's here dont really taste good either. I ordered a veal cutlet parm hero and it was pretty bland and basic.. I guess after a while all the pizza places here in Jackson Heights resemble the same thing… classic slices that are now $2.50
The pizza here is not that impressive, it's much greasier than I'd like and their sauce is rather watery and generic tasting.
Times I've come here I've gotten pizza roll things or garlic knots, I mean – they're cheap and they fulfill cravings for quick food (on the off chance that I'm not in the mood for yanno…tacos or empanadas).
You're better off making your own pizza at home or getting a $5 "hot and ready" medium pie from Little Ceasars.
YES, you read that correctly, I said LITTLE CAESARS. Hurry up! GO!!
I want to not like this place — the employees are really lacking in energy or manners, and the space is incredibly run-down and dingy (yet not at all in an attractive or charming way) — but the pizza isn't half bad… I've had food from here a couple times now (take-out to my friend's nearby apartment), and once it's properly re-heated it's fairly decent (especially their "white" pizza with ricotta cheese and mozzarella). But I won't be rushing back.
Confusingly there are *two* Thomas Pizzas in Jackson Heights. I went to this one not listed on Yelp…so a new First for me. So rare 🙂
On this rare pizza night – only because I saw this place and was fed up of "ethnic" food (did I just say that!) I scanned the pizza slices and spotted these pizza rolls, like cinnamon rolls but spinach and salami. So I grab a couple to go with a Pepsi (one a year treat!)
Nothing special, but not bad either. Definitely a take out place…no room for eat in.
