I HAVE COMPARED BOTH CARTS IN THE INTERSECTION OF 86TH ST AND 5TH AVE. THIS ONE *PYRAMID* IS BETTER. WHY?
YES, finally a good halal cart in Brooklyn, because I was getting tired of traveling all the way to Manhattan for the Halal guys, which lately have been a little disappointing (small and not as tasty plus wait in line and the parking, basically nonexistent) And also because we have it in Cali now.
This is unfortunately the cart with no lines. The cart people think is not good! So I decided to try BOTH CARTS at the same time and see for myself. (we were 7 and pretty experienced in halal eating haha) And honestly, this one was tastier, with better rice (yellower, better seasoned) and softer meats, than the other one. Me and my friends agreed too. It was definitely tastier. The only bad thing is that they don't have pita bread with the mix combo (also $6).
I truly hope they do well, because sometimes we are too blind and too close minded to experience new things. Just because there was no line doesn't mean it is not good.
TRY IT, if you don't like it, tell them and tell me why.
Some of the best halal I've ever had in my life! That's saying alot considering how many halal carts I've visited in my life in NYC. They serve the usual lamb or chicken over yellow rice, but in my case and what I highly recommend is to order the combo lamb AND chicken over yellow rice with barbeque sauce. Yes, the key to it all has always been barbeque sauce! Like most halal customers, I used to order the white sauce and hot sauce on top of my rice dish, but Three Pyramids has completely changed my philosophy of what sauce to add on top.
In addition, their halal dishes come with crinkled French fries inside! How awesome is that?! That was definitely a first for me when I first ordered here. And of course another great thing is that they are open late into the wee hours for those looking for a late night snack.
