  1. If you ever find you're self near MSG looking for a bite to eat, this is the place! I stopped in with my family for a late lunch and we all left very full and very happy.

I ordered the trinity special which consisted of a side salad, potato leek soup, and a corned beef sandwich. For less than $15 this seemed like the best deal. The soup was absolutely delicious. It was creamy, garlicy and had the perfect level of salt. The side salad was also better than I was expecting. The mixed greens were topped with a large portion of fresh cucumbers and tomatoes. Finally, I have to say I was a bit worried about the sandwich, Im not a big corn beef fan, but I figured I'd give it a try. While the sandwich didn't blow my mind, it was a good addition to the soup and salad. Pilled high with corn beef, the meat was topped with cheese and a spicy mustard.

My favorite dish was the Mussels appetizer my parents split. First of all, this dish was huge with plenty of mussels to share. The creamy tomato sauce was also perfect. It was light, tangy, spicy and was great for dipping bread in afterwards. Oh, I should also note you get free bread WHICH IS ALWAYS A GOOD THING am i right??

Finally, my brother ordered the shepherds pie and to quote his first words after taking a bite "wow, i am now officially a shepherds pie fan." The mashed potatoes were soooo good and extra garlicy. The meat (i believe it was lamb) was also very tasteful. My biggest problem with shepherds pie is usually that its too salty, but this dish hit all the marks.

    OVERALL
Great restaurant if you're looking for a place to eat in the city. Tir Na Nog has that authentic irish feel that makes you want to order a Guinness even if you don't like beer.

  2. My wife and I both had pork chops based on the waitress Geraldine's recommendations.  They were delicious.  Cooked medium, nice and juicy.

  3. Food: great. I had the burger which was well above average and my buddy had the roast beef sandwich which he said was awesome.

Atmosphere: as you would expect for an old school Irish pub

    Service: no problems there.

Misc: this was my first time here. Did know to expect. $42 for two meals and two sodas and that includes tip. About good as you're going to do in NYC with wait service.

  4. Great Steaks and Salmon.  Fresh ingredients, and great service.  Desserts are great.  Bit pricy, but in the heart of the city.  Great environment for business gathering.
1 Adult meal with non alcoholic drink, and sweet $45.

  5. Love this place and the warmth it provides coming in off the winter streets of NYC. Always a great place for a pint or a whiskey. I ate there the other night and I gotta say for $21.00 the Shepard's Pie was awful skimpy

  6. Wow! I came here about a year ago, and just visited again yesterday!

Inside, is a beautiful restaurant and bar. There's sitting to the left and to the right and there's a small sized bar straight back.

Our waitress brought over two waters and took our drink order. I ordered an unsweetened ice tea and my Aunt ordered a coke. She brought over our drinks right away and took our food order. My Aunt and I both ordered the Trinity Special (Soup, Salad, Half a Sandwich) with potato and leek soup, and ceasar salad but I ordered the sandwich du jour (ham and cheese) and she ordered the corned beef sandwich with mustard on the side.

We were starving and looking for our bread basket. We eventually flagged down our bus boy who brought us a basket ASAP. Not even two minutes later our food came out delivered by a food runner! We were so busy eating our soup and salad that I didn't realize that my sandwich was a corned beef sandwich and not the ham and cheese sandwich.

We were looking for our waitress but couldn't see her in view any where in the restaurant. We asked the bus boy to get her but then a different waitress came over to help us. She took away my corned beef sandwich and put in an order for the ham and cheese. A few minutes later a hot delicious sandwich was delivered!

The bread is awesome!! They give you three different rolls (everything, butter roll, and an oat-ish roll) and then two pieces of two different breads (Irish soda bread and a sweet honey bread.) I tried a little of everything, all delicious!! I ended up dipping the rolls in my potato and leek soup. The soup was so good. Thick and creamy! The Caesar salad is incredible. My Aunt and I decided that it's one of new our favorites! She loved her corned beef sandwich and was glad she got the mustard on the side. It was so spicy! My sandwich was delicious! It was warm with ham, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and a dijonnaise.

If Ti Na Nog was on Long Island, my family would be eating there once a week! It's delicious, moderately inexpensive, and adorable.

  7. Office is upstairs and I finally came in for dinner.

It was Happy Hour but not at this location. Apparently, there is a sister restaurant and that location has Happy Hour but NOT this place.   READ AGAIN — NO HAPPY HOUR here.

There is a check in counter and I was met by an older gentleman, who clearly did not enjoy his role at this establishment. The reception was less than warm. Such a downer. I was all amped up to get my drink on and his demeanor was just .umm bleh. Again.. it was happy hour and I had a long hard day and I really  wanted a cold pint and this old chap just ended the evening quickly.

I thought it would be tiny and grungy. But pleasantly surprised. Place is cozy and has these nooks and a huge window allows you to people watch. I can see hanging out here and just knocking a few back. Service is fast and prompt. the food is mediocre. Really mediocre. I would skip the food and just have drinks here.

  8. I came here for lunch to meet up with an old friend and it was a pretty solid meal.  They host/waitress was very friendly and helped me out right away.  The menu had some solid choices and ultimately I decided to go with the Cajun sandwich.  It was pretty standard, nothing special or out of the ordinary, but the food came out quick and the service was good as well.  Not a bad lunch spot.
