  1. Got delivery. Got the penne vodka. Was good but not worth the $20. Anyone have any suggestions for penne vodka in the area ?

  2. We were walking around at dinnertime looking for a place with outdoor seating and reasonably priced food and we came upon Tiramisu. The staff was very welcoming when we arrived. We were given the option of outside or inside seating. We choose outside even though it was a little drizzly, we wanted to be in the fresh air. Also the restaurant was open aired, so it was probably similar temperature inside or out. We were given a delicious bread basket and oil and vinegar on the table and we got a bottle of Pinot Grigio to start.  The wine was fine (I rhymed)  and then we ordered our mains. One had the pear ravioli, it was in a white sauce and she loved it. I had spaghetti with clams in a red sauce, it was delicious. Hubby had something with pasta, sausage and vegetables and he was quite happy. One thing I noticed about the entrees, they were the correct proportions. It wasn't like you had a trowel of spaghetti and then one or two clams. It was the right proportion of fish, pasta, sauce. And it was so flavorful. Great job Tiramisu. Delicious food, reasonably priced and excellent service from staff.

  3. I came here for brunch on a Saturday afternoon with my neighbor. We were immediately sat outside (it was beautiful out), given bread and olive oil, and were served drinks. I wish their brunch menu was a bit wider in choices. I ended up with the vegetable fritatta and fries (no hash browns or home fries, booo) Like another reviewer said, I should maybe try them out for dinner one of these nights. The dinner selections looked amazing.
    The staff was friendly and courteous.
    …and that's all I have to say for now.

  4. Still a good spot to corral your multigenerational family on the UES, and still nothing to rave about.

    The food is best if your crowd is willing to eat family-style. Salads are big. Pizzas, while not brilliant, are fine, especially for picky eaters. Pastas are a good bet. Other entrees are hit or miss: yummy veal, overcooked salmon.

    One thing that annoyed me was that the wait staff didn't think to bring serving pieces, so we were reduced to parcelling out food with our own silverware.  Water glasses are kept full, but the service in general is lacking.

    The namesake dessert, though, makes up for a lot of Tiramisu's shortcomings. At least you can end on a good note.

We stumbled into this place after visiting the Guggenheim in January.  It was cold and snowy out, and we were happy to find a quit, cozy, warm place to sit and relax for a while.  Our waiter suggested a good and affordable tuscan wine which went wonderfully with the food.  The bread and salad were pretty status quo.  I had the beet gnocchi and it was fantastic!  Usually gnocchi is very heavy but this gnocchi was light and flavorful.  The citrus shrimp was also very tasty and light.  Overall, I liked the food because it wasn't particularly heavy like so many italian restaurants.  It is a little bit overpriced, but the great atmosphere made up for it.

    Me, approaching a fairy causually dressed man that seemed to work at this restaurant: Hi. There are two of us. Is there a wait?

    Host: Two? Yes. (Points to table on the small outdoor patio along 3rd Avenue).

    Me, slightly befuddled and suddenly querying whether he actually worked at the restaurant: Ummm…is that for us? We can sit there?

    Host, confused by my own confusion: Yes, you sit there. Go. It's there!

    My friend and I take our seats at the table he pointed at, pleased to get outdoor seating on a gorgeous Saturday evening. Suddenly…

    Host: I'm sorry. We are going to have two other people sit here. They are at the bar. Please come inside.

    We walk inside, and he points at three empty two-seater tables.

    Host: Sit!

    Me: At which table?

    Host, once again confused by my own confusion: There!

    We just sat.

    Dude.

    At least the Risotto Verde was amazing.

  7. This is such a cozy Italian restaurant.

    Insalata Tropicale: Large slices of avocado, hearts of palm, and arugula topped with shredded carrots, lemon juice, and evoo dressing. A fresh and unique taste. ($11.50)

    Italian Rice Ball: I thought that the name was peculiar, so I gave it a try. What I got was a crispy, fried rice ball filled with cheese and meat sauce. Absolutely delicious! ($6.50)

    Linguine Nere Al Sapore Di Mare: Black linguine with shrimp, calamari, clams, and mussels covered with spicy tomato sauce. It was pretty good. ($19.50)

    Chocolate Ravioli: This is the only place I've seen with this dessert dish. Crisp ravioli with a smooth chocolaty center laid on a bed of fresh berry chunks and sauce. It was perfection. ($8)

    I highly recommend the Italian Rice Ball and Chocolate Ravioli!

  8. I came here for brunch, but would like to return for dinner in hopes for a better experience.

    The brunch menu was very very small. They have a really big selection of salads and personal pizzas. The grilled chicken salad was just aight.
