Can't ever really go wrong with Toby's coffee is consistent, delicious, and made to order. Never had any of their baked goods but no need becaus the coffee is enough. Not too expensive either.
Small coffee shop in the West Village but it's roots are in Brooklyn.
Toby's Estate Coffee was on my radar, they roast the beans in Brooklyn. That just makes sense, why ship roasted beans from the west coast? We can do it and do it very well in Brooklyn thankyouverymuch. So the beans are locally roasted, how does it taste?
Damn that's a fine cuppa coffee. Toby's Estate coffee has the roasting down.
Now they're seducing me with the small cozy coffeehouse vibe. This place could be like Pleasure Island from Pinocchio, we drink their seductive coffee, then turn into Donkeys and next we're on the "Estate" with baskets on our backs bringing the beans to get roasted. Uncool Toby…..
Nah, I'm just funning'. That was a mite-t-fine espresso roast. If coffee is your lifeblood, I highly recommend tasting the Brooklyn roasted coffee beans from Toby's Estate Coffee
The coffee is strong and delicious. I found the inside refreshing, colored stools mixed with the normal hipster coffee shop vibe. I think the to go cups are a little small but prices similar to anywhere around here. You can sit with laptops though internet wasn't working when I was there which was a buzzkill since they claimed they had no way to restart it. Barista was still relatively friendly. It can get crowded on weekends.
I actually first knew about Toby's Estate Coffee when I was in Singapore, even though I'm not too sure about whether they're actually related. Either way, when I found this in New York, I was super excited! Every time I go here, I get the avocado toast with the sesame + tahini (the other option is with lemon and chia seeds) and it's the perfect combination! I don't think I know another place that uses that as an accompaniment! No outlets, but people do bring their laptops to work here!
My best friend and I took a coffee class here and we were blown away. We learned so much about coffee and learned how to properly make the perfect espresso. I highly recommend the class. It was a great experience.
Good coffee, fun vibe.
This would make a great people-watching spot in the West Village.
Stopped here after brunch for an iced americano to go. They use the tablet cashier system which is always a little weird since they spin the stand and your receipt and tip are right there in their face as they begin to take your order.
The coffee was quickly made, the barista was a little hesitant when I asked for the almond milk. Simple syrup was available at the sidebar. Self-served.
There were also quite a few patrons looking for barista-like jobs in the establishment.
Great coffee shop. I was there with friends so I couldn't get a good sense of what it'd be like to do work there.
My espresso was great. It came with a tiny seltzer. I like the set up and atmosphere a lot. I definitely wanna come back here.
Tasty lattes and great space .. the most hipster-esque place you probably can go to that's a bit mainstream. Avo toast was so overpriced and I felt horrible that I dropped some avocado on my sleeve. I almost cried because it was basically a $1 worth of avocado. When I saw it was $8, I imagined it a bit bigger…
