  1. Place is cool. Have to admit i only spent 20 min in it but thats all you really need at a coffee shop right? You say coffee? What? Yes its a toms coffee shop with a portal in back that leads to a hidden shoe store. All owned by toms. The shoes benefit third world countries by giving people shoes. The coffee sales supplies them water. And the glasses sales give third world citizens eyeglasses. Pretty cool. Good coffee. A bit overpriced, but A its going to a good cause, and B its NYC what do you expect? Pretty cool ass places. Very well decorated and cool staff. Stop in some time for a coffee which ranges from $4-7 and maybe a pair of slip on loafers. Or a pair of shades, which range $120-200.

  2. It's an interesting idea to open a joint coffee shop and shoe store. I surely didn't mind on a hot summer day when I stopped in. All their teas, coffee bags, cups etc are labeled with TOMS logo so I guess they've been expanding their business footprint.

You enter into the cafe at first and then the shoe store in back. There's a small seating area in front and aside from drinks they offer a few baked goods too. We only tried their iced green tea so I can't vouch for anything else. Service is a bit slow though because they let the tea seep for a while and there's only two people working.

The shoe store is fairly small so unfortunately there's a limited selection. You'll have better luck finding what you want online. I like the idea of a joint shop and the decor which fits the theme of TOMS. But execution could use some work.

  3. Very unique store. They have your usual selection of TOMS in the back with a coffee bar in the front. They had about 40 different shoes each for Men and Women and the prices were suprisingly reasonable. Most of the shoes I saw were in the $40-$75 price range.

I didn't have the coffee but there was a small line when we arrived and from the look of it, it looked decent.

If you're in the area and looking to get a new pair of shoes, I'd definitely recommend checking out this TOMS NY store.

  4. Cute shop/cafe – came here to buy sunglasses but was disappointed with the service. When I walked in the girl working was sitting at the counter charging her phone and texting. I couldn't even tell she worked here. Then when I asked her if I could get a pair, she looked at me funny – as if it was a weird questions to ask!

The TOMS in Venice, CA has a better vibe and the coffee scene seems to be more popular. When I came here there was no one.

  5. What?! I can buy shoes and get a coffe at the same place? Now that's good thinking!
Cute TOMS store, coffe shop at the front of the store. They have a cool selection of sunglasses as well.

The staff is very friendly and prompt to answer any questions.

  6. TOMS makes coffee. Who knew? And what a great little store. Having opened only several days ago, my friend wanted to check it out. You can grab a cup of their organic trade coffee, shop for shoes/sunglasses and even pick up some literature*. It's like they know me.

The store is beautiful, organized and spacious. You'll first run into the little cafe when you can snag a latte and a muffin if you'd like. There's a small seating area that's perfect if you want to kick back and hang a bit. Adjacent is a wall of glasses + sunglasses and wayyy in the back is the shoes. TOMS is a bit pricey but they're a great company with a fantastic philanthropic foundation which I am always happy to support. You buy a pair of shoes or glasses and they donate a pair to those in need.

*If caffeine or shopping doesn't catch your eye, the book cubby will. They have a "leave one, take one" policy which is awesome. Luckily, I had a book on me! And got myself a nice shiny copy of "Humans of New York". Fantastic idea.

Can't wait to come back for a visit and see what other books they have to offer. And I might as well grab a coffee while I'm at it!

  7. Alright I will keep in cool promise.

I love this place. Great coffee, dough donuts, and this little pastries are to die for. I love their selection in shoes and EVERY time I come they always have new shoes out. They have bags and backpacks too. I really like it here.

Have you been to the very back on the patio: if you want a Zen, place to relax, chat, catch up and enjoy a cup of coffee and read make it happen. this is the spot to be. I enjoy coming here and coloring in my adult coloring books. After work is the best time. TOMS is open until about 7:00pm. Some nights vary, but that gives you enough time to be some place else, but not deal with the tourist or long lines. I love it back there.

if you are in the area stop in check out the product, get a cup of joe, and relax in the back. that's an evening I CAN'T wait to do. WOAHHHH

  8. Came here specifically to study in the patio.

When you first walk in, you see the espresso bar and seating along the window and wall (seats about 4-5 people). And then sunglasses that they sell. In the back they sell their shoes. And then beyond the glass doors is the patio. The patio is pretty big with comfy cushions. I came on a day that rained and didn't get wet at all because it's covered.

For drinks, I just got an iced black tea. They have green and black iced already, but they can also make any of the teas iced (it'll just take a little longer). They have some specialty drinks that I would come back to try.

    Would definitely come back!

    *wifi, but limited connection
    *very clean bathroom
