I wanted to go wild and crazy about this place, but I'm going to have to Tony it down a bit. Perhaps you can Spot the reason why. It shouldn't be too hard though. In fact it's a Pizza cake to be honest.
What to get: Pick a slice, any slice
What else: If you touch my arse again, I'll tell HR
Definitely one of the best slices in Brooklyn. I've tried several dozen of the highest rated ones on Yelp, and the only one that I like significantly better in this borough is Luigi's on 5th Ave. Other than that, it's a toss up between the likes of Best Pizza (Havemeyer in Williamsburg) and Tony's Pizza Spot. And both of them are delectably definitively delicious. Sort of like your thingy. Yes, I said your thingy. What are you going to do about it.
I've been back here for pizza 3 or 4 times on my storied and fabled NYC food tours, so it must be good. What's more, the people serving it aren't the Brooklyn Attitudal Types (BATS) like Luigi's (who are lovely guys by the way), nor are they the Williamsburg Hipster Oddballs (WHO?), they're just really nice, friendly, humble guys who make f***ing amazing Pizza.
If you live in Brooklyn or visit Brooklyn on the regularityishness, then you should have tried this slice by now. It's literally right round the corner from Snooki's beloved Clinton Hill Pickles. It's not only the best slice in Clinton Hill, it's one of the top 3 in Brooklyn, and probably the best pizza named "Tony's" in the whole country. Sorry "Toni Pepperoni", you just don't cut it (no literally, you need to cut your damn pizza into slices pls, thx), even though you use a girlie version of Toni which I appreciate lots.
Anyway, this ain't no "Phony Pizza Spot", nor is it a "Lonely Pizza Spot" because it has plenty of fans and customers, although not enough considering how good it tastes. It's not "Joanie's Pizza Spot" which would be a favourite of Chachi, who loved to eat Joanie's anything. And it's not "Pony Pizza Spot" because ponies don't eat pizza, not even when they have a sore throat (i.e. they are a little hoarse). But it is a "Homey Pizza Spot" and it is most certainly "Tony's Pizza Spot." Try it. Love it.
Tony's is a decent pizza place. The crust was thicker than I expected. Tony is nice enough. I will probably go back since it is convenient to where I live, but I doubt I would go out of my way for it.
