Tra La La Juice Bar
“I also love how it wasn't overly sweet as most cake balls tend consist of too much sweet frosting, these seem to maintain its cake-like texture.”
“I asked which is the best between the matcha green tea, the fig, and the chocolate banana.”
“One may mistake this stand for just a juice joint because of its name but I go for the fish sandwiches, which are really tasty and fresh.”

Situated inside Essex Street Market. It's your neighborhood juice bar.
Fresh ingredients of veggies and fruits, made right in front of you. Had the ABC apple, beet, and carrot with a touch of ginger. Great energy kick and well made.
Priced well for this area.
This place serves like 100 versions of a cold pressed juice and the guy who works here just oozes good vibes. He picks the fruits/veggies from the stand next door and gets to work. Super fresh and delicious. About $7-$8 per juice which is average.
As a SF bay area native, I'm always in the mood for some fresh juice, especially after gluttonously eating my way through New York the last few days.
I was already a fan of The Essex St Market, so I was glad that there was a juice bar in here. The owner is super nice and can make you whatever juice for a flat price of $6 for a large juice with as many fruits/veggies you want (as long as he has them!)
He also owns the bakery right across from it so I picked up some cake balls. I grabbed a matcha green tea, chocolate peanut butter, and chocolate banana walnut. All of them were really good and pretty true to its flavors. I also love how it wasn't overly sweet as most cake balls tend consist of too much sweet frosting, these seem to maintain its cake-like texture.
One day I was walking in the Essex Market and I stumbled upon a display of the most beautiful cake balls I had ever seen. It is very rare to find cake balls anywhere. There were so many unique flavors, but I didn't have any cash on me. I tried to look up the place, but it was very difficult to find online. Fast forward to today, when I was back, armed with cash. The stall is unmanned, and if you want a cake ball you have to talk to the guys across the way at Tra La La Juice bar (I guess they own the cake place). I asked which is the best between the matcha green tea, the fig, and the chocolate banana. He said the matcha was the best so I got that. It's just $2 for one, and they are satisfying without being sickeningly sweet. It would be a great gift to buy a couple of these for somebody, or split a few flavors between friends. Based on other Yelp reviews I really want to try their juices and muffins too!
