Atmosphere was nice. More upscale and trendy, but I definitely saw some casually dressed patrons. The waitress was great – friendly and attentive. Our food took awhile to make and we were both starving, so I asked the waitress to bring whatever was done first out. She said she'd bring us bread to tide us over. Turned out to be the best bread we've ever had. Sourdough bread grilled on both sides with oil. Yum.
When my grilled cheese finally came, I was a tad disappointed as it was kind of small. It was tasty, grilled with the same bread as I had earlier and sandwiched melty cheese. However, at $17, it was definitely not worth it. $17 is a ridiculous amount to pay for a grilled cheese, but that was literally the only thing I could eat on the menu.
I went there for lunch with a friend. The ambience and service are superb. Love the staff there! I would give them 5-star for that. They have $21 business lunch (app + entree). I ordered the zucchini hummus and TM burger. The food is good but not mind blowing, hence 4-star. Everything else was great. I'd def go back again!
Came here on a weekday at 3pm. Was pretty much empty.
I was dining solo – a larger curly haired girl on the front desk offered me a seat at the bar. When I said I'd prefer a table she looked at me a little blankly (as if I should be sitting at the bar if I was on my own) but then showed me to a table without saying a word. I would totally understand if it was busy and they didn't have sufficient tables. It wasn't. I was literally the only guy in there. It wasn't the best welcome.
From then on, it really picked up. There's a two course business lunch menu for $21 which has a ton of options. I ordered the hummus to start and the fried chicken with fries. Both were very well presented. Tasty, fresh and light. Id recommend both.
My actual waitress (blond ponytail) was great. Very friendly and attentive. And made up for the poor start.
The atmosphere and presentation inside is immaculate. The theme is kinda "old country bar" with a very modern twist.
I can see why this place has a great Yelp rating. I would come back.
I wish that I could give a 3.5.
I came on a Wednesday night. The location is adorable – love the fact that it's like a speak easy restaurant! I would have never known that there was a buzzing spot behind the closed coffee shop. The place was pretty packed for a Wednesday night but we had reservations.
We started with garlic knots and burtatta because its GARLIC KNOTS WITH BURATTA. Unfortunately it seems like there was a lack of communication because our burgers (the entrees we ordered) arrived before the garlic knots did. And this was after a significant wait. The waiter happily took them back though and said they would re-make them, but we had been waiting for so long that it was disappointing.
Once the garlic knots arrived, they were delish. They definitely look bigger in pictures though – I could have happily eaten this app alone. The burgers took around 30+ minutes once we were done the knots which was kind of annoying since we were crunched for time. The server was very nice about the mistake, but I wish that we would have gotten them faster.
We got the burger with bacon and the classic burger. The classic burger's lettuce and tomato comes on the side so I'd say if you love bacon then you might as well get the burger because the two are very similar and the same price. The fries had good flavor but they lacked any crisp. Maybe they were undercooked?
Overall good food and seems like a fun place for drinks!
I found this gem in midtown Manhattan thanks to Yelp. The overall experience factor is well beyond a 5 star. The service is exceptional. Upon arriving, we were greeted at the door and escorted inside. The host then sat us at a high top. The booths were really beautiful though but they were all taken. Our server brought us over these beautiful menu. This place really care about their appearance which I love. It's the little details that people overlook at times. Anyway, I ordered the must-have burratta and garlic knots and my friend had their signature burger. Both were truly amazing and the quality of the food far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area. The experience was phenomenal.
It's been some time since I've had a 5 star meal experience so I am beyond excited to tell you about this gem that is Trademark Taste & Grind.
When we walked in, we saw this cute little coffee shop (I'm guessing this is where those amazing donuts are sold during the day) and it turned into a speakeasy vibe restaurant! Super trendy – I was a big fan of the lights and indoor decor.
We got there on a Tuesday around 730pm and waited about 20 minutes for a table for two. The staff apologized for the wait, and even gave us free wine on the house. Such a nice gesture. The service was all around superb.
And….OMG the food. I had this HUGE grin on my face the entire meal because it was THAT GOOD. The burrata & knots blew me away. You can feel the burrata and garlic knots melt in your mouth and it was a magical combination. Don't miss this!
The fried chicken sandwich was something special. The combination of spicy honey, soppressata, aioli, and slaw… I promise you'll be licking your fingers. And don't get me started on the fries. You can't stop! Pro tip: ask for less salty fries.
I am so sad we didn't get to try the TM burger and the s'mores donuts but somehow I know we'll be back. Solid 5/5 for AMAZING food, atmosphere, and service. Run here, don't walk. This place is a game-changer in Midtown.
After walking past this place once, it caught my eye and I made a note in my head to come back here to check it out. A couple days ago, my friend and I came here for some after-work drinks/snacks. It was nice place, not what I expected from the exterior, which looked more earthy chic – it was more polished, with a clean cut white granite tabletop for the bar, and white (maybe granite?) floor. I kind of expected a more comfortable, wholesome feel, but it was still nice.
My friend had a drink waiting for me upon my arrival, a "Tall Order." The drink was delicious, pretty sweet but not overwhelmingly so. Not too strong.
We also ordered the burrata and a side of fries.
The burrata – OMG SO GOOD. The combination of the perfectly seasoned and baked garlic bread with the rich tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella stopped both of us mid-conversation – all that was needed was an exchange of looks to know we were on the same page about this dish. The ingredients melted in your mouth, melding together perfectly. I was really close to ordering another one. Incredible – a must try! The fries were also really tasty, very crisp and salted well.
We contemplated ordering more, but nothing else on the menu particularly caught our eye, and based on the pictures people have posted, the portion sizes looked quite small for the prices they charge.
Overall, it was a bit of a pricey place to come if you want to be a regular here, but I might come back for that burrata 😉
