  1. I love coming to TransAm. The coffee shop is tucked away in Ridgewood. It's a bit of a walk from Bushwick but I don't mind the walk. I normally walk down Myrtle and see some of my other favorite spots on the way.

The first time I came to Trans Am I thought it was going to be a tiny spot. I was happily misled by some of the photos on the yelp page. This place is gigantic. The coffee shop is connected to the venue next door called Trans Pecos. During the day, you can find more seating, bathrooms and outdoor seating on the Pecos side.

The coffee shop itself has very cool stamp cards and as most of you know I am a sucker for frequent buyer's cards with rewards. A coffee card is like a dangling carrot. I swear my wallet is made up of many stamp cards. I have also found the staff to be consistently friendly and eager to help.

I can never stay away from the vegan peanut butter cookie. I am a huge baker and this is probably one of my favorite vegan treats. I am not sure I would have even guessed it was vegan by taste alone. And  I finally got to try one of the sandwiches a couple weekends ago. The Chavez sandwich was good. But the homemade tempeh was different and I couldn't get much of the nut cheese.  The sandwich still had some of my favorite ingredients of avocado, tomato and arugula. I will have to try the pesto, mozzarella sandwich called the Tuscan.

I also like the black walls with the col white paint detailing. There's tons of nice plants and wooden details and even a water fountain b the kitchen. The café is reminiscent of what would open in Portland. And having their own nut milks is just the kind of Portland character that I am talking about.

  2. This place truly is lovely. I just moved to the area and was walking around looking for coffee shops. This one didn't disappoint!

I ordered a sandwich and a coffee here on a rainy day. The coffee was fantastic and served in a giant mug, which is a very cozy touch. Plus, the coffee was only $2 with $1 refills — that price cannot be beat for a good warm cup of caffeine.

The staff here is very friendly, and not in a fake way. They're just genuine people.

Also, the atmosphere here is very warm and modern. Highly recommend this place. 🙂
