We ordered delivery (online) because we were too tired to move on our last night in NYC, I called just to make sure they got our order right and the guy who picked up was super nice and attentive. The food came super fast and they didn't charge extra for the bread and butter which I ordered on the side, the food was pretty decent, we each ordered a tomato and chicken noodle soup. My order (the tomato soup) was a bit too salty for me.
Went to Trend Diner for some breakfast and fell in love with this little cute diner. I ordered the egg white and cheese on whole wheat toast + a bowl of greek yogurt with stawberries and granola and it was delicious!! I love that they have healthy options + the portion sizes were big!! Also, the staff was super courteous and attentive!
We needed a place for lunch on a Saturday after visiting Sotheby's. We were very happy to find this special spot.
The Trend is just what you want in a diner:
Delicious food with generous portions
Very comfortable seating
Friendly and warm atmosphere
Wonderfully friendly and attentive serving staff
The lady host was was lovely and our server, Nick, was the best!
Looking forward to return very soon!
Trend Diner has great no frills diner food. I came in for a late brunch and got eggs Benedict with home fries. The eggs were juuuust overdone but still delicious. Home fries are solid, but I'm a sucker for places that put bits of bell peppers or onions in there, Trend's is very basic. Their challah french toast is delicious. Bacon is not overly crispy- you get those nice pockets of fat.
The biggest surprises were their bloody mary's- they don't use a mix. Never expected to have such a good bloody at a diner.
The space is really narrow. We sat at this crazy center table with only a narrow walkway separating us from booths on either side. Waiters would come bearing towers plates of steaming food over our heads, delivery guys, patrons, all rushing past. If you're claustrophobic or need to spread out, this probably isn't the place for you.
If you don't specify you're having brunch they won't give you brunch prices, regardless of what you order. In our case the difference only ended up being $1 so we didn't care enough to say anything.
This is a five star diner. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by our waitress, Jenn, and immediately shown to our seats. The space itself is very modern looking, and while I love an old-fashioned looking diner, it was definitely clean and still aesthetically pleasing.
I had a craving for a good, old-fashioned cheeseburger. I ordered their classic steak burger with cheddar, and my husband got a burger with Portabella mushroom and onions. Both burgers were large, cooked as ordered, and presented nicely with lettuce, tomato, and pickle. They didn't try to mess with a classic. There is an option to upgrade your burger to a deluxe, which adds fries, but we opted for one of their specialty french fries plates. We got the fries with three different types of cheeses, and they were fantastic.
The waitress checked on us frequently, keeping our water glasses full, and adding friendly commentary to our meal. My husband commented that this is actually the best service he can remember since us moving to New York. While most diners are interchangeable, I would say that Trend diner is a step above the rest in cleanliness, service, and food quality. We will definitely be back!
On top of it all, the prices are good – we ate dinner for $30.
Summary: Great service, above average diner food, and good prices. A triple whammy!
I took refuge here for about an hour between appointments at one of the medical centers nearby. Dealing with the medical system in this country generally sucks and I kind of just needed someone to be nice to me and serve me hot tea for a while, and the guys at Trend Diner fit the bill perfectly. They were attentive and kept offering me more hot water for my tea, which was really sweet.
The breakfast I had was a notch below standard diner breakfast: the sausage was a little undercooked and so were the eggs, although maybe that was my fault for ordering over easy. I like them runny, but these felt…raw.
On the other hand my breakfast came to like $7, which is pretty rad for Manhattan, and they were nice to me and it was warm in there. I'll just order my eggs a different way next time.
So kid friendly!! Food arrives fast and is fresh. The server was so nice to us even when our kids were being terrors. The quesadilla was a hit ! Def going there with friends again
Excellent service here. It's more of an upscale diner based on the decor, which is I guess "trendier." When I came for brunch, it was quite busy and we had about a 15 minute wait. The space itself isn't huge but they've packed in a lot of seating.
In terms of the food, we for the Granny's ultimate breakfast as well as eggs with beef hash. Both were very well executed. The sunny side up eggs were done right and the beef hash had great flavor. The potato and toast were decent.
Granny's breakfast included sausage, French toast, and bacon. This was overall asp a good dish, but very standard.
With the brunch prix fixe, you get an entree with a drink, whether coffee, juice, or other. But if you're getting a coffee only with your meal, it's actually cheaper to order from the breakfast menu.
Overall, this is your standard diner food, prepared well. Service is good.
