You must try the doubles. How are these $1.25?! Great peppery kick with some mango here and there. The jerk chicken had complex spicing that didn't kick in immediately but was in full effect by the 7th bite.

It's probably worth trying any of the curried dishes that include roti. Last time I had goat, I think I had chicken previously. Both had fiery yet complex sauces. I don't know what the "hard fowl" on the menu is like. On my last time I only got one piece of jerk chicken because they ran out; they substituted another kind of chicken which was mundane.
A teeny space on the Liberty Avenue strip of off-brand clothes, imported hair products and purveyors of doubles, I brought a group of people from Manhattan and Brooklyn here as part of a short food tour.
We chose Trini Delite for doubles, and we got eight for a group of about the same size. I really can't enough of doubles, those pockets of fried dough filled with chickpeas, sauce and taramind. If there was a place that served them in my corner of East Williamsburg I'm sure I'd be there two or three times a week. Alas, having to travel outside the neighborhood means I enjoy these dough pockets once a month if I'm lucky.
I see wildly disparate reviews of this place, mostly from people who live around here. Thankfully they can be more discriminating with the myriad options for doubles. I can't offer that level of critique, but I can say that I found the doubles definitely up to snuff. The person behind the counter was friendly too and not put off the large size of our party. She even let us carry in a couple of drinks we were using to keep hydrated between the salt and the heat (this was some months ago).
So for people who can be more harsh to the place, so be it. I think their doubles are pretty solid.
