  1. It was the grand opening of the modern looking juice bar that also has some healthy deli items like kombucha, aloe juice and hummus etc. they also sell sweets and have coffee, sandwiches and granola bars. There are a a few seats but more of a takeout spot.

It seemed a little unorganized I. Terms of who is next to order etc. and they probably need to work on their pacing because I felt like the wait could have been shorter.

They offer 2 juice sizes starting at $4

It looks nice and clean since it us new so keys hope it stays that way.

The staff seemed helpful if they were confident in what they were doing.

My juice was good,& smoothies start at $5, protein drinks at $6

  2. It probably goes without saying that when I see a bike delivery guy from a few blocks down delivering lunch to a guy who works here that it makes me question the food they're making. I went ahead and ordered a wrap anyway. I was disappointed to see all the paninis and wraps are already pre-made but I wanted one of their signature wraps without tomatoes so the guy made me a fresh one. I asked the guy to make it hot but it must have slipped his mind. The wrap listed basil as an ingredient but what they used was pesto. Yes there's basil in pesto but there's a big difference, one that was wasn't a big fan of.

I also got a smoothie ($5 for a large size). This was delicious and a good value. It's pretty sad to see these guys open a fresh juice/smoothie shop directly across the street from a well established and loved shop of the same kind (Nectar) so hopefully they both survive.

It's also worth noting that these guys deliver, the service was friendly, and they also have other food (like breakfast, desserts, and fresh made salads).

  3. This place is a bit confusing. Is it a trendy organic juice bar or a janky corner store? Should I feel healthy buying those green smoothies or kind of lazy when I could just drink at home less than a block away? I still don't know.

But I do know the smoothies and juices are pretty solid. And this is coming from someone who hates green juice (why you would want to liquefy vegetables for pleasure is simply beyond me). They put a good amount of fruit in most of those juices so if you're looking to irritate your teeth with pure liquefied kale, this isn't your place. But if you don't hate yourself then sure, it's worth a visit.

  4. Nicely sized 16oz smoothie for $5. Take your pick from various other fruit smoothies and green juices. Assortment of "healthy" snacks and drinks ranging from energy to coconut water.

  5. Really tasty juices, really disappointing food.

This is a tough rating — for the juice bar, I would give 4, but the food earns a 2 at best. (Specifically, the egg sandwiches are standard deli grub but the make-your-own salad quality is horrid, especially for the price.) I punched the numbers in the ole calculator and got 3 stars.

So, if I haven't been clear so far: Just come get a juice. My favorite is the Green Dream — earthy but balanced with a natural sweetness.

  6. Tropic Juice Bar & Grill is like a cross between a convenient store, a smoothie shop, a deli, and a grill. They have some pretty tasty stuff, but if you're wanting a smoothie, you better not go when more than 2 people are in line b/c smoothie making is slow as molasses up in there! I mean, come on, how long does it take to slice up some fruit, stick in a blender with some protein powder and other goodies, and blend that stuff?? If you got 15-20 mins to wait, then come on by for a delicious smoothie. Otherwise, make one at home or try some place else. They definitely need a lot more coordination and speed behind the counter!
